What: A competition to solve an open-ended problem using research and mathematical tools

Why: To encourage modeling and research problem solving

When the ideas of AMATYC IMPACT are implemented, students are empowered to be mathematically proficient, take ownership for their learning and be engaged in the learning process. Faculty will focus on facilitating a conceptual understanding of mathematics and procedural fluency, in addition to student engagement & success, with the support of their institution

Delegates will have an opportunity to approve the philosophy and spirit of the document on Saturday afternoon
