Additional comments* about registration and communication:

Somewhat wordy and redundant in communications.

The best training out there!

I registered very late, so a lot of the pre-info I am sure I missed out on.

I think there could have been better communication regarding the schedule for the week. For example, the Week at a Glance schedule indicates the Institute Mixer was taking place on Day 1 from 6:30-8pm but there were no additional details including dinner being served.

It would be nice if a business sending multiple attendees could pay all at one time instead of having to pay separately.

Love the app, but it wouldn't hurt to have included the bus schedule in the attendee service center.

Once you select electives you cannot change them in the attendee service center, you can also not change your password or your information, which basically negates the whole purpose of the attendee service center.

The app was fabulous!! Great feature.

Difficulties getting access to the Attendee Service Center - it's not cross-platform friendly (must use Chrome). Would have liked the class roster to be dynamic, downloadable information rather than pdf.

Love the attendee service center and ability to access handouts easily.

Loved the APP!

Would like to see better and earlier communication when the class docs are available.

Seamless.

Always goes very smooth!

Additional comments* about customer service:

The most excellent customer service I have experienced in a long time all-around.

Excellent. The Institute staff responded quickly to my email prior to classes and the staff onsite were always smiling and happy to assist with any questions.

Our class adviser did very little to make the class a success. I expect more...much more. No information at hotel at check in. No contact information. No passing on useful information from personal experience how to make our class more unified or to increase morale and to get the most out of the experience. No explaining the IOM structure...faculty, regents, instructors...or how we could be involved, etc.

Hotel staff is not that attentive. Nice and friendly, but not great.

Regents were introduced to us as a group a few times, but they were not actively meeting first years or being very approachable outside of class. They tended to stick with their groups.

Board of Regents were very helpful in changing my electives.

Conference Center food for breakfast and breaks could be better.

I don't like that the DoubleTree stopped their comp shuttle.

No water in apartments on campus...even after several calls, no change. When picking up my key for the apartment, the student appeared to know very little about my next steps.

Additional comments* about accommodations:

I got a room at the Hyatt because the DoubleTree room block was lifted prior to my registration. Consider a larger room block that will hold longer in the future.

Appreciate that O'malley is available to save for my organization. I did pay for the single room, but others that paid lower price also had room to themselves. Would be nice to equal out the prices and give everyone a room to themselves, rather than gambling on it.

I believe the DoubleTree has done renovations since last year; the property was definitely up to Hilton standards.

Glad that transportation was provided to and from the training center.

My hopes are to stay at the Double Tree or something equivalent that includes hotel point benefits.

They staff and hotel were awesome.

3 People in a dorm is WAY too many! Trying to get ready was impossible. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. No air conditioning.

Extra pillows and something to provide more cushioning on the beds would be great. I tend to be able to sleep anywhere, but for those not able to do that, I suspect the beds would have been a major issue for them.

Bus coordinator was very friendly and helpful - she had big smiles every day.

Campus apartment had a moldy tub and paper sheets! Also, the stove had been left on for who knows how long! Not a good experience this year.

I like earning the Hilton Honors points.

I had an Ipad and other small items stolen from my room.

I prefer on campus housing for the convenience. Really wish iron/ironing board came with it.

The dorms may not be fancy, but we know what to expect and it really builds for some nice camaraderie.

In third year we know what we are getting with the dorms but the beds, sheets, pillows were all below par.

Additional comments* about events:

The kickoff is tough to attend after traveling all day.

I would appreciate a top level speaker to kick off Institute rather than the games, nice to have fun, thats awesome, but would fit more with the reason we are there. Mixer is the fun part already!

The only issue is the sound at the Institute Mixer. It is fun but very hard to hear.

Because I registered so late, I ended up commuting. Did not make all the events.

I was very impressed with the Big Bash aboard the Hornblower. I was not expecting a sit down dinner. Regarding the Mixer, the location in the atrium was not the best. It was difficult to hear when the activity was going on.

Not enough time between class and graduation ceremony.

It was a great experience to see the 4 week graduates celebrated for their participation. And the Big Bash was THE SOCIAL HIGHLGHT of the week. The Kick Off and Mixer were "ok." Notibly lacking was the "lets introduce ourselves to each other." Having the context of who we are, what role we have in our organization, the location of our organzitaion, how large a community we represent and how many members we represent would have helped enormously.

3 hours is a long time to be on a boat.

The kickoff and graduation ceremony speeches go on for wayyy too long. Should keep them to 5 minutes or under per speaker. At one point I looked around and many people were on their phones- that's when you know you have lost them!

Also, the game at the mixer had the potential to be very fun. A few things that just made it 'Good': directions were unclear/confusing and you couldn't hear Peter when he was explaining them; as the sun set it was directly in the participants' eyes, so you couldn't see your teammate doing the charades, doo-doo-dooing, etc.

Overall it was great, just some comments that were heard around the watercooler so you can make Institute even more fantastic!

I am fast tracking, so the mixer always seems forced with a new group.

Kickoff seems to drag on a bit.

Kickoff is long with too much talking, the mixer went on and on and on and on, graduation is also a lot of the typical chamber/association events which needs a pick-me-up, the big bash is great, but the food was terrible.

Nice that graduation was shorter this year. The kickoff and mixer could be done a little better and with less cheese. Maybe mix classes up and have an icebreaker instead of pitting classes against one another. More could be done to highlight the qualities of the collective group- e.g., there are 3 hospitality associations and 5 chambers with less than 3 staff, etc. to encourage folks to seek out those they can learn from. Consider informal peer mentor program to pluck leaders from each class to help facilitate.

Big Bash boat ride - would be nice to start earlier to catch more sunlight - even a half hour. The total time on the boat was too long. Being that class was next morning, we should have had the option to disembark earlier.

Big Bash on the yacht is always fun, i'd have paid extra to have had anything but Chamber chicken for dinner : )

The game for the mixer was a bit deadly. Most people were gone before it was finished.

The mixer the first night could be improved by better sound system and communication as to what is happening. Too hard to hear in there.

Keep the Wednesday Entertainer bash.

Loved, loved, loved the yacht!! What a fantastic way to send us off and enjoy our final day in LA -- please keep doing it, at least for the the next 3 years until I graduate!

Additional comments* about additional learning opportunities:

The tour walked us down the hall and said they serve lunch here. They didn't show us where to find classrooms or where the bathrooms were. It was basically useless.

I arrived early to attend the bonus sessions but they did not take as long as indicated on the schedule. Being a Sunday, I would have preferred arriving a little later.

I was either not aware or I did not understand any of the above were available to me.

For the tour, a whole-campus tour would be fun. Most of the students didn't ever go outside University Hall and missed out on a spectacular setting at LMU. The Bonus Sessions were less structured than the other workshops. The technology class was only a few minutes. It would be great to have us try out each piece as we go and interact and utilize that whole amount of time. For the What you Need to know, the comments by the advisors were great and helpful. A handout with insider tips to reference during the week would be a good addition.

Might be helpful to have an ice-breaker type mixer earlier where we can meet faculty and Board members. Consider a speed-dating session where you have 2-4 minutes with each and then move to next chair; this can be with faculty and Board or just among individual class.

I think signage on this campus could be helpful for some students who don't know where they are going or forget from previous year.
