Buying an older home inWembley was a goodchoice for a couple withyoung children — but
the back yard needed a totalmakeover.
Enter Sam Keats from LivingEnvirons and a complete gardenrenovation plus the inclusion ofa swimming pool and cabana tocreate the perfect outdoor areafor a family.
“We handled all aspects of theproject from concept drawings,through to construction,landscaping and final handoverwith a bottle of bubbly,” he said.
The focus of the outdoor areais the new concrete swimmingpool that measures 8m x 4.3mand is 1.8m deep.
The blue interior is RainbowQuartz and a grey mosaicwaterline tile blends well withthe exposed concrete coping andpaved edges in a honed wattletone.
There is a wide underwater
seat alongside the three-stepentry area to the pool.
Semi-frameless glass fencingsurrounds the pool area andthere is a streamlined cabana atone end of the pool.
The cabana is steel framedwith jarrah timber deckingbeneath. The roof interior islined with Glosswood thatincludes downlights.
The cabana area is perfect forsummer entertaining by day ornight with an LCD televisionconnected to cable to keepeveryone entertained when outof the water.
The pool equipment isconcealed in one corner of thegarden behind jarrah fencingand a curved rendered gardenwall frames the long stretch oflawn.
A pine lap fence was alsoinstalled and painted to screenthe existing old fence line andthere is an modern outdoorshower in a curved design setinto a timber deck alongside arendered wall.
Timber decking also coversthe concealed recessed box atthe far end of the pool that holdsthe solar pool blanket when notin use.
The garden plantings weredesigned for easy maintenanceand include kangaroo paws,Cassa Blues, agaves, dracaenasand magnolia Little Gem.
The outdoor garden lightscomplete the new environmentwith a combination of stainless-steel bollard lights, garden spikelights and eyelid lights all withLED globes.
