WELFARE FACILITIES

• Limits of temperature and air movement

• In any factory the wet bulb temperature of air in a workroom at a height.

• of 1.5 meters (5 feet) above the floor level shall not exceed 30°C .

• Air movement of at least 30 meters per minute.

• Statutory welfare benefits.• Drinking Water: working places hygienic

drinking water should be provided.• Facilities for sitting: suitable seating

arrangements are to be provided.• First aid appliances: First aid appliances are

to be provided.• Latrines and Urinals: A sufficient number of

latrines and urinals are to be provided in the work place.

• Canteen facilities: Cafeteria to be provided by the employer.

• Spittoons: In every work place ,spittoons to be provided and to be maintained in a hygienic condition.

• Lighting: sufficient lights are to be provided for employees to work safely.

• Washing places: Bathrooms, wash basins with tap at work places.

• Changing rooms: Adequate changing rooms .

• Adequate lockers are also provided to the workers.

• Rest rooms: Restrooms are provided to the workers.

• Maternity & Adoption Leave – Employees can avail maternity or adoption leaves.

• Medi-claim Insurance Scheme: Insurance schemes provides coverage of employees.

• Cooling of water.

• The number of water centres to be provided shall be one "centre" for every 150 persons employed.

• Latrine Accommodation

• Where women are employed, there shall be at least one latrine seat for every 20 women.

• (b) Where males are employed, there shall be at least one latrine seat for every 20 males:

• All employees must be examined and declared fit by a qualified ophthalmologist.

• factories employing 51 to 200 workers

• shall have an occupational health centre.

• A minimum of 5 persons trained in first-aid procedure amongst whom at least one shall always be available during the working period;

• A fully equipped first aid box.
