Oxygen Cutting and Welding
Safety Instructions When Working With Autogenous Equipments
Note
• The use of the autogenous torch, with its accessories and
the use of fuel gases and oxygen requires knowledge of and
compliance with these safety instructions.
Service staff are requires to partake in training sessions and
safety instructions.
• Before putting into operation, attention must be paid to the
possible risks at work, e.g. to danger of fire through highly
flammable substances, gasses or liquids.
• With warming operations it must be taken into consideration
that the heat spreads out and rises upwards. Cool the heat
conducting material if it is necessary or required.
• Fuel gas-oxygen mixtures can not be left unignited from the
Oxygen flow. Personal protective equipment must be used
such as welding goggles.
• Handling with oxygen: Ensure that any parts which require
handling with oxygen do not come into contact with oil and
fat. DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
• Autogenous equipment as well as accessories are
manfuctured and checked according to the rules of
technology. They are in accordance with appropriate DIN EN
norms of welding engineering. No changes to or
reorganization of the equipment may be carried out without
the consent of the manufacturer.
• In case of improper treatment and inappropriate use the
dangers for the operator and for other persons as well as
damages to the devices and equipments may arise.
• Compliance regulations and norms must be observed :
UVV welding, cutting and allied processes BGV D1 (formerly
VBG 15), UVV oxygen BGV B7 (formerly VBG 61), UVV use of
LPG BGV D34 (formerly VBG 21), TRAC (Technical Rules for
Acetylene and Calciumcarbidlager), DIN EN ISO 5172, DIN
