The HOPE Appeal is the annual giving campaign of the
Diocese of Syracuse. Every year the programs and
services supported by the HOPE Appeal touch
countless lives in every city, town, and rural area in
our diocese. When the goal of the HOPE Appeal is
achieved, we ensure that these programs will receive
the funding that is needed.
The HOPE Appeal serves nearly 230,000 Catholics in
121 parishes across seven coun'es in Central New
York.
The linked parishes of St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's and St.
Charles-St. Ann's invite all graduating high school Seniors to
attend a special Baccalaureate Mass to be celebrated in
their honor.
Sunday, June 9th
10:30am at St. Charles
We are so very proud of all of you and we invite all parish-
ioners and family and friends to come as we pray for our
Seniors. A light reception will follow and we have a small
token gift for each graduate. We hope to see you all!
RESPECT LIFE
The New film Unplanned cuts straight to the crux of the abortion
debate, telling the true story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned
Parenthood clinic director who now directs a pro-life organization.
Critics have dismissed it as “propaganda” and “an unabashed hit-job,”
but the movie’s success stems from its refusal to flinch. It earns every
bit of its R rating for blood and gore– but what does it say about the
violence of abortion that simulations of it require a restricted
audience? Unplanned is not, ultimately, about Planned Parenthood or
its executives. It’s about the gruesome reality of abortion.
Angel of Hope
The “Angels of Hope” Fund is a parish initiative to assist the St.
Charles-St. Ann community when one of our parish family members is
hurting financially, due to a crisis in their life. Its purpose is to assist
in an emergency. It is open to anyone with a connection to the parish,
both active and inactive.
The initial seed money was provided by the family of Marilyn
Schwanke, in her honor. The fund is sustained by the members of the
parish community through donations, and bequests. It is the intent of
this fund that parishioners will be “angels of hope” for each other
through their donations
Thank you to Jean Sciara and the Voices of Faith for
their wonderful concert that benefitted the Food
Pantry. The funds raised were almost $400.00.
Dear Parishioners of St. Charles-St. Ann Church,
You are making such a difference! Thank you for helping
us feed the hungry here in Syracuse, with your
donations of food.
The people come to us and leave knowing someone cares.
Thank you for being that light!
Peace,
Jennifer

lives. Our next Bible Study will be June 8; and June 15; 9-11am Bring
a Bible and a friend! There will not be Bible Study in July and August.

The Parish community group has strived to bring our parish family
together in fellowship for many years. We have held brunches, sweets
after Masses, trivia nights, card nights, pot luck dinners, cook offs and
much more.
In the past we have held luncheons in Canfield Hall to get people
together. We have brainstormed for a long time on the ways to bring
our communities together, especially now as we are linked again with
St. Patrick and St. Brigid’s. As we call on all parishioners to
participate and volunteer we are asking for your help in continuing our
efforts.
The Parish Community Group will be meeting again on June 4; 6:30pm
in St. Ann’s cafeteria. Please come join us as we work together to
strengthen our parish ties and meet new friends and build our parish
community.
Our Next event will be Friday evening, June 7th at 7pm for Trivia Night.
Please join us!

What We Love About Being Catholic?
Given all of the attacks on the Church from without by her detractors
the damage done from within by sinners in her ranks, it can be easy to
lose sight of what made many of us want to join the Catholic Church, or
return to her, in the first place.
“Knowing that I am at home at last. I never felt like I belonged
anywhere until I met Jesus and entered His house on earth. I will never
leave because no good Catholic made me convert, and no bad Catholic
will make me leave. I love the Church that Christ established and died
for– a Church filled with sinners. It does need cleansing from the top
to the bottom; be active in the cleansing, but keep your eyes on Jesus,
and trust God in the hours of darkness. “
