Welcome!
Yes, we’re still in assigned seats. No, we’re not going to be reading today.
Unfortunately, there’s too much to do before our Socratic Seminar tomorrow
Get out your three articles from yesterday and get ready to write some level 2/3 questions
Have you got your student-discovered evidence figured out?
1st Reading Check Make-Up
For those who did not pass the first reading check, there is a make-up assignment available.
It can only bring your reading check grade up to a 7 (which is passing).
It is your responsibility to get the assignment, read the instructions carefully, complete it well, and return it by Friday.

up to show your thinking) by tomorrowRead all 3, but only mark up two (one of
which has to be article #1)
Today, Part I: Constructing Questions
You know the drill…Write one level 1 question and three level 2
or 3 questions.Get four peers to sign off and vote on your
questions Get Mr. Thompson’s initials If you finish early, return to marking up your
articles for tomorrow…
Today, Part II: Student-Discovered
Evidence You must each come prepared tomorrow with a
“piece of the puzzle” to possibly contribute to the discussion.
Take some time now to write, compile, discover, create, or plan your piece of evidence. Interview a parent/grandparent/guardian Find and print a related article Write a (detailed) personal experience Do an informal survey/interview
You may use your phones to discover a piece of evidence.
