ith more than 900 startups in our

own backyard, the rise of Silicon

Beach, and with a changing demo-

graphic of business leaders, organizations such as

the Chamber of Commerce have had to reinvent

themselves in order to better help the thriving

business community. The days of the traditional

brick and mortar office

are waning; today’s

professional is mobile,

willing to work from

home or their local

coffee shop rather than

limit themselves to

a single office with a

signed contract. Many

are not the “joiners”

we have seen in years

past, and some of them

are unfamiliar with the

more traditional mem-

bership organizations

such as Chambers of

Commerce, something

that we aim to change.

As our business

economy launches into

LAX Coastal Chamber

is charged with the
