HOME LEARNING• Home learning designed to prepare for, reinforce and
extend learning that has taken place in class. • Balance of Mathematics tasks, multiplication tables
practice and spelling tasks. In addition, a project will be set during our Dropped Pins learning theme. This will include Literacy tasks.
• The expectation is that children spend no longer than 25 minutes on an activity.
• We also expect the children to read for at least 15 minutes every night.
• Your help is needed please….engage and monitor• Check the 4C class blog
How can we help at home?Encourage your child to:
• Organise themselves on a daily basis (letters, PE kit etc...)
• Check their personal emails regularly• Set up a desk or study area• Start home learning on their own• See if they can solve their own problems• Be inquisitive• Explore their interests
How can we help at home?• Use internet, books, people as sources to broaden their
knowledge and understanding• Have family discussions/debates• Listen to and read the news (BBC Newsround website)• Read daily – model good reading and engage with them
about the text – e.g. ask questions about the story/characters/plot/setting
• Play mental maths games• Solve real-life money problems • Access Link and Learn /relevant computer games
