Post Entires

Pre-entries close July 10, 2018. To avoid post entry fees, entries must be postmarked no later than July 10, 2018.

For horses already properly entered by the July 10, entry deadline, additional ECC classes may be entered for an additional $50 per class.

If entry is postmarked after July 10 and re-ceived by July 23, 2018, the post entry fee is $25 per horse.

If the entry is received after July 23, or origi-nal entry is made at the show, the post entry fee is $50 per horse.

If you are qualifying for the first time at EAHS, post entry fees will not be charged if all ECC entries are made by the close of the office Thursday evening.

If not entry is made and an exhibitor rides through the gate, an additional $100 will be charged plus post entry fee.

Absolutely no post entries in dressage or western dressage.

If you are qualifying for the first time for dressage or western dressage at EAHS, you must entry your ECC class by the July 10, 2018, entry deadline. Absolutely no entries for dressage and western dressage will be taken at the show. If you do not qualify at EAHS, your ECC class fee will be refunded for dressage and western dressage only.

Rules & Regulations

AHA Membership Statement

Each competitor (this includes at least one recorded own-er and all trainers, drivers, riders, halter handlers, coach-es and the person(s) signing the entry blank) in an arabi-an horse association recognized arabian division, at the time of entry into a competition, must submit a copy of a valid aha membership/competition card, join aha or pay an aha single event membership fee per competitor. When an agent signs for the owner at an AHA recog-nized competition, both the owner and agent must be members of AHA or pay the AHA single event member-ship. Single event membership is not acceptable at AHA regional or national competitions. Exhibitors in walk-trot classes are exempt from AHA membership requirements at qualifying competitions, but must have an AHA mem-bership with competition card at AHA regional and na-tional competitions. Exhibitors in lead line classes or parents/guardians signing for minors are exempt from aha membership requirements. (BOD 5/12)

Checking out

Anyone failing to check out of the show with the show secretary will be assessed a $25 fee and billed accordingly.

Class Calls

Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the public address system must be consid-ered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibi-tor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to main-tain a working public address system to carry class calls.

Coggins, Health Certificate, & Vaccina-tions

Upon arrivl to the Virginia Horse Center all horses must provide negative Coggins dated within the twelve months of the show date and a Health Certif-icate dated within thirty days for all horse originat-ing outside of Virginia, and the Virginia Horse Cen-ter Event Declaration form. PLEASE SUBMIT A COPY OF THE PAPERWORK WITH ENTRIES AND HAVE ORIGINAL COPY WITH YOU.

USEF Equine Vacination Rule

All Federation licensed competitions; horses enter-ing the grounds must be accompanied by documen-tation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competi-tion Management.

Rules & Regulations

Dressage Ride Times

No post entries will be accepted for Dressage unless there are ride times available. Once Dressage ride times have been scheduled they will be posted on the website www.eastcoastshow.com.

Disputes

Any disputes or contingencies not covered shall be ar-bitrated by the show committee.

Early Arrival/Layover

Stalls are available 8:00am, Wednesday, August 1, 2018. An early arrival fee of $30 per stall (horse and tack) per day will be charged for all stalls arriving pri-or to August 1st. Stalls must be vacated by 10:00pm, Sunday, August 5, 2018. Sunday night layovers must be arranged with VHC at a cost of $20/horse plus pro-rated security. The layover fee is paid directly to the VHC.

Eastern Arabian Horse Show

Is a qualifying show for the East Coast Championships and the Region 15 Championships.

Entries

Entries must by postmarked no later than July 10, 2018. Post entries will be accepted at fees specified on the fee schedule. Post entries must pay the per horse and/or per class fee, if applicable. Post entries for dressage will not be accepted. Time slots may be available after entries have been processed.

Entry Refusal

The Show Committee reserves the right to refuse, ac-cept conditionally, or cancel any entries of any exhibi-tor at their discretion as stated in the current USEF Rule Book.

Gate Calls

Entries will be allowed a maximum of two minutes to enter the ring. If the exhibitor believes a conflict could occur, he must choose the class most desired. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to know the rules and become familiar with the schedule so that he may choose which classes will not conflict with each other.

Incomplete Entires

A $25 incomplete entry fee will be charged per owner if mandatory information is not included. To include: copy of registration papers, copy of USEF, AHA, USDF membership cards for each owner, trainer, and exhibitor, amateur certification (if applicable), legible copy of negative Coggins for each horse, proof of flu/rhino vaccinations, health certificate (if applicable), VHC event declaration, all signatures, and complete fees.

Payment

Funds must paid with cash, Visa/Mastercard, money orders or checks drawn on a US bank. Checks must be made payable to EAHS. A check or completed credit card form must accompany the entry blank or entries will not be accepted. Open checks are not ac-

ceptable at time of entry. Exhibitors sharing stalls, horses, entry fees, etc, cannot send partial pay-ment. Full payment must accompany each entry blank. All fees will be billed to the owner of record. If you are sharing horses, the office will not accept partial payment.

Rules & Regulations

Motorized Vehicles

Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which

allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the

state in which they reside will not be permi ed to

operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including,

but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters,

or farm u lity vehicles, on the compe on grounds of

licensed compe ons. Minors who have a valid tem-

porary license may operate the above described mo-

torized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by

an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s),

legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry

blank as a parent or guardian of a minor opera ng a

motorized vehicle in viola on of this rule are solely

responsible for any damages, claims, losses or ac ons

resul ng from that opera on. Viola ons of this rule

will be cause for sanc ons against the parent(s),

guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for

the child commi ng the offense. Penal es may in-

clude exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s),

and/or trainer(s) from the compe on grounds for

the remainder of the compe on and charges being

filed against any of the above individuals in accord-

ance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility

assistance devices for individuals with disabili es are

exempt from this rule. The show security for the du-

ra on of the show will impound any motorized vehi-

cle that is operated in an unsafe or hazardous manner

or parked in a restricted area. Please drive golf carts

responsibly, horses have the right away, humans next

then golf carts.

Non-negotiable Payment

Checks returned by the bank for any reason will incur a $50 fee per incident. Declined credit cards will in-cur a $50 fee. If you use a debit card and have a daily limit, and the charged amount exceeds your daily lim-it, a $50 fee will be charged.

Number of Horses in a Class

Three or more horses constitutes a class. Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes with less than three entries.

Officials

Management reserves the right to change licensed of-ficials listed without prior notice before or during the show.

Penalty Policy

In the event the Eastern Arabian Horse Show, the East Coast Championships, management or officials are fined by any organization owing to an exhibitor’s in-fraction of the rules or requirements, said fine will be charged to the exhibitor pluse a 10% penalty.

Refunds

If you wish to cancel entries before July10, 2018, please contact the show secretary. The office fee will not be refunded. No refunds will be made after this time without a veterinarian slip or, in case of the ex-hibitor, a doctor’s note. Refunds will be at the discre-tion of the show committee. Refunds will be mailed no later than 30 days after the show.

Scratches

The show office must be notified if an exhibitor does not intend to show in a class for which they are en-tered.

Protecting the health of your horse and other horses at the Virginia Horse Center is of the utmost importance to us. As such, VHC has implemented Required Biosecurity Measures to decrease the risk of introduction and/or spread of contagious or infectious disease at its shows.

Horses must check in with the Stable Office upon arrival. If arriving during off-hours, please check in with Security.

UPON ARRIVAL TO THE VIRGINIA HORSE CENTER,ALL HORSES MUST HAVE/PROVIDE:

EVENT PARTICIPATION DECLARATION Required

Signed by the owner/agent/trainer verifying that the horse has been healthy with no sign of infectious disease and has not had a

fever above 102°F within 72 hours (3 days) of arrival. The Event Participation form must be submitted for each competition held at

VHC in which the horse participates. Event Participation Declaration Form available in the show and stable offices and at www.

horsecenter.org .

PRESENTATION OF HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

The Equine Health Requirements are Required for all horses entering the Show Grounds both Showing and Non-Showing.

These documents must be filed in the Show Office before any competition numbers will be issued. In addition, random checks

for Equine Health Requirements will occur. Be sure to keep a copy of all of your horse’s Equine Health Requirements in an

easily accessible spot (in your tack room or tack trunk, truck or trailer) to ensure you can comply with this requirement. The

results on all required papers must indicate the horse’s registered (show) name.

Any horse not accompanied by these documents will be directed to the Show Veterinarian to obtain the required documents and/

or vaccinations, and/or will be placed in quarantined stabling until the proper documents are obtained. Any horse showing signs of

fever/illness/stress is subject to examination by VHC Officials and/or the Show Veterinarian, who may at their sole discretion, place

the horse in quarantined stabling or take further action if deemed necessary.

USDF Membership Benefits: USDF is dedicated to education, the recognition of achievement, and promotion of dressage. For details on member benefits, including educational programs, awards, and other opportunities, refer to the USDF Member Guide or the USDF website at www.usdf.org.

Membership Requirements for USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized Competitions: Owners and riders, including foreign riders and owners who are not residents of the US, wishing to participate in a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition as a rider or owner/lessee, must have either a USDF Group Membership (GM), Participating Membership (PM), or have a USDF Non-Member (NM) identification number and pay the USDF Non-Member (NM) fee. (Note: USDF Business Members can own horses but cannot compete as riders with their USDF Business Membership.) Individuals cannot compete at a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition with a USDF Education Membership.

Horses competing at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions must have either a USDF Horse Identification (HID) number or a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR). Proper credentials or verification certificates must be presented to the competition secretary.

Riders and owners wishing to participate in a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition, and not able to present the competition secretary with verification of a USDF membership or NM identification, and USDF LHR or USDF HID, must complete a USDF Competition Affidavit Form and pay the $5 affidavit filing fee. A copy of a completed affidavit form from another competition may also be used for verification purposes for up to 60 days. (Exception: Affidavits cannot be used at Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships.) Exceptions:

Horses competing only in Individual Breed Classes (IBCs) at DSHB competitions, sires and dams of horses in DSHB group classes, where those sires or dams are not actually competing in the same competition, horses competing only in breed restricted dressage or DSHB classes at Regular Competitions (e.g. all Arabian, all Friesian, or all Morgan classes), or in USDF Introductory Level tests, pas de deux or quadrille, are exempt from this requirement. Also exempt are horses ridden in leadline, exhibitions, games and races, classes for 4-H members, walk-trot, academy, and opportunity classes.

Riders and owners/lessees competing only in classes which are exempt from the USDF HID requirements are also exempt from the USDF NM identification number and NM fee requirements. Also exempt are handlers of horses competing in DSHB In-Hand or Group classes.

Memberships Defined Participating Membership (PM): A membership issued to an individual directly by USDF. The membership year is December 1 through November 30. PMs are available for 1-year ($90), 5-years ($360), or life ($1,800). A USDF Youth Participating Membership (YPM) is available for individuals who have not reached their 21st birthday by December 1 of the current membership year ($72). A PM allows the member to compete at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions and to participate as a rider and/or owner/lessee for all Adequan®/USDF Year-End Awards, USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals and the Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championship program. Group Membership (GM): A membership issued to an individual by USDF when the member name and dues are submitted to USDF through an affiliate Group Member Organization (GMO). The GM year begins December 1 and ends November 30. A GM allows the member to compete at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions and participate in the USDF Rider Awards program. Business Membership (BM): A membership that runs December 1 through November 30 and is issued to a business or organization directly by USDF. The USDF BM ($240) offers a wider variety of advertising benefits. BMs satisfy requirements of horse ownership only. Education Membership (EM): A membership issued to an individual directly by USDF. This online education only membership expires 12 months after the date joined. This membership type does NOT allow an individual to compete at a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition. Non-Member (NM) Identification Number: For each USDF NM owner/lessee and USDF NM rider there will be a USDF NM fee of $35 per competition that must be collected by the show secretary and submitted to USDF, along with the USDF Report of Fees document and the $5 affidavit fee and Competition Affidavit Form if the person cannot provide a copy of their USDF NM card. Owners/lessees or riders exempt from the NM number requirements are also exempt from paying the USDF NM fee. If there are multiple owners of a horse and all are NMs, only one of the owners must pay the NM fee. If the horse has at least one owner who is a current USDF PM, GM, or BM there is no NM fee assessed. Competition management will be invoiced for all applicable USDF NM fees not received with the USDF post-competition paperwork, along with a report listing all USDF NMs. Competition management is then required to submit the NM fees within 30 days to the USDF. An individual with a USDF NM identification number is not eligible for any USDF membership benefits. Once a USDF NM number has been assigned, a USDF NM card can be obtained from the USDF website. Horse Identification (HID) Number: A one-time tracking number for horses ($35). Scores earned by a horse with an HID number will be recorded, but will NOT be counted towards Adequan®/USDF Year-End Awards. A horse with an HID number is not eligible to compete in Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional qualifying or championship classes or USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals. An HID number can be upgraded to a Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) for a fee of $80. If a horse has a USDF LHR it does not need an HID number. An HID number is a one-time fee that does not need to be renewed. Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR): A horse with an LHR ($115) is eligible for Adequan®/USDF Year-End Awards, and eligible to compete at USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals and Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional qualifying and championship classes, assuming requirements for the owner and rider are met. If a horse has an LHR it does not need an HID number. An LHR does not need to be renewed.

USEF Membership Statement

Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at

Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and

Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting

Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider,

driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing

Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving

Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the

following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2)

exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception:

Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to

horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux

and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9)

citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good

standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11)

Virginia Horse Center Rules & Informa on

1. No smoking in the coliseum or barns. THIS IS THE LAW.

2. Vehicles: DRIVE CAREFULLY. OBEY ALL TRAFFIC SIGNS. Operators of motorized vehicles are required to

have a state driver's license from resident state.

No vehicles allowed in the barns. Four‐wheelers and ATVs are not allowed on VHC grounds. Non‐powered

scooters, bicycles, skateboards, inline skates,

and heelers are not permi ed in the coliseum or the interior of the barns.

3. Pets: All pets must have current innocula ons for rabies as prescribed by state of residency. You must

clean up a er your pet. No loose dogs

allowed anywhere on the premises. All dogs that are not crated must have a leash with a person holding

the leash. Loose dogs will incur a $100 fine.

Absolutely no dogs allowed in the coliseum unless crated. Absolutely no dogs in the Mezzanine (2nd floor of

the coliseum). This is the law.

4. No trash or sharps in the manure pits or stalls. Sharps should be placed in the red boxes in the barns and

not in trash cans.

5. No lunging in posted rings. Wiley, Northern, and B rings NEVER.

6. No overnight horse may be stabled in trailers, portable stalls, or ed out.

7. Horses are absolutely not allowed to be ponied behind moving vehicles.

8. Any loss, the , accident, or disturbance should be reported to VCH Security. Lost and Found is located in

the Security Office.

9. No firearms or fireworks are permi ed. No open fires

10. The VHC shall be held harmless against all claims, costs, losses or liability of every nature and kind as‐

serted against or incurred by campers arising or

resul ng in any respect from camper's occupancy and use of premises, and or visitor and visitor's use of

premises.

11. Stabling: stall doors are provided. Permanent stabling for 720 horses. Depth = 12'. Width = 10'. Height =

7'10". Wall width = 5 7/8".

12. Golf cart rentals: Golf cart rentals are available through the VHC. Rates are based on a per day basis and

may be picked up at the Stabling Office.
