The Moody Comics and Anime Club has teamed up with the Anime & Manga Club @ VSU to create Val-dosta’s premiere fan convention. It all started as an idea by a few ambi-tious NCOs and Airmen at Moody Air Force Base, home of the Flying Tigers, thus the name Tiger Con.

We have an incredible guest lineup for you, especially considering that this is our first year. And we have some outstanding entertain-ment scheduled. Our sponsors have graciously donated a moun-tain of prizes for our various contests, particularly the Cosplay Contest and the Anime Music Video Contest. The heart of our convention is the Tiger Maid Café. Not only do we have some of the most kawaii maids to be found anywhere, but the food for our café is being prepared by the Holiday Inn’s Azalea Restaurant. Un-like most maid cafés where you get some snacks and pastries, you will definitely get a full meal at the Tiger Maid Café. If you have a Tiger Con Challenge Coin, show it to your maid and get a free item off the secret dessert menu.Our vision is to start an annual convention here in Valdosta that will grow and expand as more people learn about us. Meet Tora, the Tiger Con Mascot!

Because Moody Air Force Base is the home of the Flying Tigers, our mascot Tora was designed to evoke the idea of a flying ti-ger. She has tiger ears, paws and tail, along with a pair of tiger colored wings. She wears a tiger striped dress in the colors of the Air Force’s camouflage uniform. Her name, Tora, means tiger in Japanese. Her flying tiger pet represents Cub Con, a much smaller convention held at the Moody Air Force Base Library by the Ti-ger Con staff. With every year that Tiger Con holds an event, we will see Tora get a little older, until eventually she had kids of her own who will join her a generational mascot. If you get one of the commemorative buttons or coins with Tora pictured on it, you can show your friends many years from now just how cute she was way back when Tiger Con was in it’s first year.

Special Guests!Monica Rial has been working in the anime industry for al-most 20 years and she is cur-rently listed as the most pro-lific anime voice actor in the USA. Nathan Massengill is a comic book artist, especial-ly known for his work on the first Deadpool ongoing series with writer Joe Kelly. Nathan’s comic and graphic novel credits include millions of books-in-print (including several NY Times graphic novel best-sellers) mostly from *Marvel* and *DC* comics.He has collaborated

with many notable creators, including writer/director/producers *Joss Whedon, Christopher Nolan,* and *Jeph Loeb.* His comics collaborators also include *Stan Lee, Jim Shooter, Geoff Johns, Joe Kelly, Ed McGuinness,* and *Alex Ross*. He has won both the *Eis-ner* and the *Harvey* awards. Nathan has an art studio and store-front in the *Lowe Mill Arts Center* in Huntsville, AL. Currently, Nathan’s primary work comes from adapting and producing graph-ic novels from the novels, screenplays, and concepts of independent writers.

Alice is a Cosplayer, Host, Gamer, Artist and an Inter-nationally Published Cosplay Model based out of Georgia. Alice began attending con-ventions in 2011 and began cosplay modeling in 2012. By 2013 she was an award winning cosplayer and cosplay model. She has been published in gaming and cosplay maga-zines. She is also the founder

of “Ladies of Wonderland” cosplay group.

Even though, she has struggled with having Asperger Syndrome (Autism Spectrum), Alice instantly fell in love with the convention community and knew this was where she belonged. Within a year, she was making her own cosplay costumes and modeling for pho-tographers.

Alice enjoys making people smile with her cosplay costumes and meeting new people. Also she is always sharing her love of cos-playing and learning from her fellow cosplayers. As she grows as a cosplayer and model, Alice hopes to inspire others to never give up and always follow their dreams.

Seoulmates Podcast was formed by Emily Stanton and Rachel Seaman in 2013. It started as a local radio show on GrowRa-dio.org and evolved into a podcast in 2015. Twice a month, Emily and Rachel discuss the latest in K-pop, anime, dramas and nerd culture in their half hour podcast. They documented their travels to Japan and

Kiro Maru Kosplay is a low-er Alabama award-winning cosplayer/artist who has been cosplaying since 2011 but has been sewing since 2007, she specializes in but not limited to sewing,makeup,props and armor. She is also a fursuit business owner, making those furry costumes on commission She focuses on trying to make her costumes as screen accu-rate as possible using all of her skills in combination with each

other. When Kiro isn’t in cosplay, sewing, or sanding props and ar-mor; Kiro is a big Star Wars fangirl. She has a impressive Star Wars collection of over 130 items. She also loves to play video games, make memes, and eat food.

By entering Tiger Con, all at-tendees agree to have their pho-tos taken by Tiger Con staff for promotional purposes. Tiger Con agrees not to use the photos in any other manner besides promotion and not to sell the photos to any third party.

Photography is allowed and encouraged at the convention!

However, if someone does not wish their picture to be taken, refrain from photographing them. Also, if you need to take a picture, be quick about it and do not block hallways or entrances.

Photographers are asked to not set up any lighting structures or back-drops that are not immediately portable. Photographers may be asked to move these structures due to traffic flow at any time.

Please refrain from using photographic devices in any showing room or main movie presentation. You are welcome to take many pictures during events such as the costume contest and opening ceremonies!

COSTUMES, WEAPONS and PROPS

Tiger Con is an all-ages event, and as such prohibits extremely revealing costumes and attire. A good rule of thumb is full-coverage bikini top + shorts for women and shorts and shirt for men.

Attendees must comply with all local, state and federal laws concern-ing weapons. Additionally, sparring, fighting, and horseplay with prop weapons is prohibited. This includes slow motion fighting, because the term “slow” is very subjective. Just don’t to it. Cosplayers with prop weap-ons may pose in action positions, but these should be static poses. Real swords and other weapons purchased in the dealer’s room may stay on the con grounds so long as they remain in their original packaging, but no walking around with live steel swords/daggers/etc. And no, the sheath

doesn’t count as original packaging. We’re talking about a box or similar package. Tiger Con reserves the right to eject anyone from the con who does not abide by these rules. Additionally, the police may be called for infractions involving real/live steel weapons.

BEHAVIOR

We know that a convention is about having a good time, but for our attendees’ safety, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, such as fight-ing/sparring (fake or real, including sword swinging), heckling, impeding traffic flow, offensive behavior, failure to observe basic hygiene, public in-ebriation (or similar intoxication), or any other failure to follow the rules.

Tiger Con can and will take action against any type of disruptive behav-ior, even beyond the behaviors mentioned. Attendees that cause these types of problems may be warned, asked to leave, or even face inquiries from the police (depending on severity).

Attendees of Tiger Con attend at their own risk. Tiger Con takes no responsibility for any damages incurred to property or person of guests, artists, dealers, or attendees. Smoking is not permitted inside any build-ings. Offensive or overly revealing attire is not permitted.

Tiger Con takes no responsibility for lost items. Lost items will be held at the registration booth until the end of the con, at which time they will be turned over to the conference center staff.

Tiger Con prohibits signs or other materials that are not part of a specific costume. This includes (but is not limited to) “Hugs for a quarter”, “Free glomps”, and “Spank a catboy for $1”. Tiger Con reserves the right to con-fiscate/destroy/remove any and all signs.

Due to safety issues, roller skates, bare feet and stilts are prohibited in the conference center. Blocking doorways or heavy traffic areas for any reason not limited to photography, dancing, standing with an expansive costume in a crowded area and other obstructions is strictly prohibited.

Conference staff will help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance. We expect participants to follow these rules at all event ven-

ues and any related social events.

SECURITY

Security volunteers and professional security/police may instruct you to discontinue activities, move to a different location, etc. Such discus-sions may be difficult and they always should be done professionally and respectfully. However, specific security instructions may be delivered at a loud volume to compensate for ambient convention noise.

There is no reason to ever engage in unwelcome behavior that has the purpose or effect of harassing others. Report any unwelcome behavior you think might be harassment regardless of it is covered in this docu-ment. If you feel unsafe, tell someone.

If someone offends you, let that person know so that it won’t happen again. If you have offended someone, understand his or her perspective, apologize and don’t let it happen again. Again, if you feel the incident is severe or makes you uncomfortable, please proceed to an Information/Registration/Security desk and tell a Tiger Con staff member.

If you are aware of any behavior that might violate this policy, report it to Security at an Information/Registration/Security desk.

ADVERTISING/SALES

NO SALES are permitted on the premises outside of the Dealers’ Room, Artists Alley, and specified areas.

Anyone found posting, pasting, taping, or pinning material on conven-tion property that is not an artist or vendor will be immediately removed from the convention grounds. Artists and Vendors are to adhere to the policies for their respective rooms.

Tiger Con reserves the right to eject anyone from convention grounds at any time.
