Governor’s Report

Hi Everyone,

Over the years I have found that many club members participate

in their local club activities but not necessarily in the NCCC

sanctioned competition events, which are recognized at the

regional and national level. So, this year we started a local

recognition program, Verde Valley Vettes Activities, to show

appreciation to those members that do the most for the club by

their involvement in the various club activities throughout the

year.

I have attached the Verde Valley Vettes Activities points listing

showing how many points I award for the various club activities

that you participate in. As you can see the more involved you

are in the club the more points you can earn. If you have any

questions, or have any comments or concerns see me at the next

meeting or give me a call.

I will be out of the country for most of July into August, so I

have asked Bernie to cover for me at the next governors meeting,

which will be held at the Great Summer Escape in Ruidoso in

July. Please contact Bernie if you have anything you want

brought to that meeting.

We will be hosting the third quarter governor’s meeting at our

October Monopoly Rallye weekend and I need some suggestions

on where I can hold the meeting for the regional officers and

governors. I would hold it at my house, but it is too small, so if

anybody has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

Upcoming Events:

• 7/7 – 7/12 NCCC National Convention. Denver CO

• 7/13 BBBS Picnic

• 7/19 – 7/21 Ken Daby Great Summer Escape, Ruidoso NM

See you at the nest meeting and Have a GREAT 4th

Bob McFarland, NCCC Governor

The purpose of the Club Activities Yearly Award is to recognize

those members that contribute the most to the club outside of the

regional and national competition award programs.

This point system is for club activities that are not part of a

NCCC Sanctioned Competition event; if you are receiving points

for a sanctioned event you do not also receive club points.

For reoccurring/repetitive events/activities: ex. Pizza night every

4th Friday of the month, event chairs and co-chairs receive full

points for the first yearly occurrence of the event, then “worker”

points for all subsequent occurrences.

Fraud Alert

Some members have received bogus emails, purportedly from

Jim Dawson, requesting purchase of gift cards for distribution to

charitable causes or just for them to contact him. NEVER

respond to one of these emails with a “Reply”. If you have any

question regarding authenticity, call or use the email address in

our Contact List to respond.

had someone else sign for them and as a result, their presence

was not counted. Be sure to sign the waiver form when

• A host hotel should be selected for the Monopoly Rally

weekend events.

• Upcoming NCCC events include Tucson on May 25 and

Ruidoso on July 19.

Corvette Club Apparel

Several members have expressed interest in ordering apparel

with the club logo embroidered on it. Consequently, Connie will

bring the catalog to the June meeting for anyone to look through.

It normally requires a combined minimum of 6 items for her to

place an order. If you would like to look over the available

selections prior to the meeting, there is a link to their website on

the merchandise page of our website. Make note of the item

number, size and color of your selections.

Next Meeting will be held 9:30 AM June 30 at Andy & Mona

Keksis’ home, 8100 Green Prairie Ln., Flagstaff. Meet at the

Big Picnic (and photo shoot)

Saturday July 13th we will be meeting with Big Brothers Big

Sisters for a picnic in the park. The event will be held at River

Front Park in Cottonwood starting at 11:00 AM and run till about

1:30 during that time we will be taking pictures of the littles in

the Corvettes. Each little will get to sit in a Corvette for a photo

shot and later receive a photo to keep.

Big Brothers will figure out some other events for the kids to do

while we are getting pictures taken and the kids look over the

cars. We will eat at 11:00 and the rest will follow.

Big Brothers will bring the napkins, plates and drinks and we

will be responsible for the food and the smiles. This will give us

a great opportunity to meet some of the children we go shopping

for each Christmas. Please try to attend with your Corvette. I will

need to know if you can show up by July 1st so I can get the

sandwiches ordered and tell Big Brothers how many there will be

from the club.
