The Swing music and dance that we love so much are precious giftsfrom the past. And yet the joy and energy we feel when we danceare such important aspects of our present lives.
It’s now our responsibility to make the dance thrive and pass it on forothers to enjoy.
Bridging all the generations of swing dancers there is an unbreakablechain that makes us all part of the same community, in a different timeof history.
Welcome to the Swing Around The Clock dance festival, welcome tothe City of Time, welcome to Geneva.
During this weekend you will be able to work on many differentaspects of your dance, including both partnered and solo movements.
We want you to have amazingly fun dances and delightful times inbetween dances while you’re here.
We are so looking forward to meeting new people coming to Genevafor the first time and those who are already old friends!

The Venues are in the middle of the town. You will find many restaurants, and shops to buy all you need with a 5 minutes walk: Italian, Lebanese, French, Japanese and a Coop and a Migros (the main groceries stores in Switzerland).
As to have you not starve during the day, we have plan to have some cakes and tartes ready for you, as well as some fruits. The bar will be open all day, also for refreshments and you will be able to eat and drink on the Venue’s terrasse.
Since most of the restaurants and stores in Geneva will be closed on Sunday, we arranged to have a famious Piadineria with us as to provide food for everyone.
Piadina is a thin Italian flatbread, typically prepared in the Romagna region. It is usually made with white flour, olive oil, salt and water. It is delicately filled with vegetables and if asked for some ham or bresaola.
We will have a choice of three piadine including vegetarian possibilities, a salad withor without mozzarella, and as desert the discovery of a Nutella Piadine.
Also, as on Sunday the party will start early, Chez Nonna will stay all day and includea tapas version of their piadine for an Apéro.

Cointrin Geneva International Airport is located at 4km from the Geneva city center.
The train is the fastest way to get to the city center. Five trains leave the airport every hour taking 7minutes to join the city center (Gare Cornavin). The train station is located inside the airport, at thearrivals floor.
You also can join the city center by bus (lines 5 and 10) in about 20 minutes.
Before leaving the baggage claim area, make sure you find the ticket machine (just before exiting) andtake a free bus ticket (from the Geneva airport only). This ticket allows you to travel by bus and train inthe Canton for Geneva for 80 minutes.
Find more information directly on the Geneva Airport website: https://www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx
Coming to Geneva by train is fast and convenient. We recommend you take the train if you comefrom a place in Switzerland or in an adjacent country. Gare Cornavin is Geneva's central trainstation. Many buses and tramways are available to and from it. To join all our venues from the trainstation (Stop: Gare Cornavin), you can use bus 1 & tram 18.
Train timetables and tickets for all of Switzerland can be found here: http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html
There are a lot of parking in Geneva, however it is very expensive. We strongly advise to travel bytrain or by plane.
Find information on where to park at “Fondation des Parkings” (only in French)
https://www.geneve-parking.ch/en

Geneva is a small sized and an easy-to-walk city. However, busses, trams
and boat are really reliable and run very often.
When you stay in a hotel, a youth hostel or a campsite in the canton, you will receive
a "Geneva Transport Card" free of charge. With this card, public transport in
Geneva is free for the full duration of your stay.
This personal and non-transferable card will be given to you when you arrive at
your accommodation. It permits unlimited travel on Geneva's public transport
network (UNIRESO: bus (TPG), train (CFF) and boat (Mouettes Genevoises) for the
full duration of your stay. !
Yet, if you are not staying in a hotel or a youth hostel to take the bus/tram
for your trips you can purchase one of these tickets :
• « Saut de puce » - three bus/tram stops or 1 boat trip (2CHF)
• « Tout Genève » - UNIRESO Zone 10 - validity 60min (3CHF)
• Day card (10 CHF) or Day card from 9 am (8 CHF) - A full fare day travel
card allows 2 persons to travel together on Saturdays and Sundays

Welcome! Swing Around The Clock (SATC) strives to be an inclusive and supportiveswing dance community where instances of inappropriate behavior are neveraccepted.
Please help SATC maintain a safe and welcoming environment by practicing acommon understanding of what is acceptable and what is not when you participatein SATC classes, social dancing, events, or engage with social media (e.g. Facebook,Twitter).
SATC participants agree to :
• respect all persons regardless of gender expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, nationality, age, physical capability, lifestyle, dance experience, or dance role.
• respect the physical boundaries of other dancers (e.g., personal space and space on thedance floor).
• establish consent before each dance with another participant. Consent can be eitherverbal (e.g. asking “would you like to dance?”), nonverbal (e.g. offering your hand), or both.
• accept that both parties have the right to withdraw their consent at any time for anyreason and respect someone's choice when declining your offer to dance.
• avoid inappropriate behaviors. Examples of inappropriate behavior include: offensiveverbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, physical appearance, race, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recordings, sustaineddisruption of classes, workshops or other events, inappropriate physical contact (e.g.unnecessary touching or contact of a persons’ body, etc.).
• not give unsolicited advice to your dance partners on the social dance floor. The dancefloor is a place to have fun.
• practice a decent hygiene.
SATC encourages any participant who has experienced or witnessed intimidating, orinappropriate behavior to tell an organizer (e.g. a teacher, teaching assistant, eventcoordinator). This will ensure that necessary action is taken to deal with misconduct andthat steps can be taken to prevent future incidents.
As the situation warrants, we, the SATC organizers, reserve the right to take anyaction we deem necessary to deal with inappropriate behavior.
Thank you for helping SATC create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
