VALE Sri Bala RATNAM
On Saturday 27th
Oct family & friends farewelled Sri Bala: friend, teacher and mentor to so many people. Sri Bala studied under nine distinguished gurus of the last century. He gained qualifications from three prestigious schools of yoga in India. He founded “Vibrational Breath Therapy” form of yoga practice, with a particular focus on treatment of stress and strengthening of the immune system. Sri Bala was a great supporter of NIIM, and even at aged 89 he was busily organising the Yoga as Therapy Conference in conjunction with NIIM – to be held on November 23 & 24
th (see details below). His friendship,
wisdom and warm character will be greatly missed.

August 2012 Cochrane Review: The effect of cocoa on blood pressure Ried K et al. Effect of cocoa on blood pressure. Main outcomes: Cocoa reduces blood pressure by 2-3 mm Hg in the short-term (2-8 week studies).
