Library Closure April 8 through April 15
for Remodeling
During this week, we will be updating
spaces for children, teens and adults. Stop
by to see additional seating and study pods
for work and reading upstairs, a new space
just for ‘tweens in the Children’s area, and
a rearranged Teen Loft.
When we open our doors on April 16, we
hope you like what you see. Items in the
collection will also be shifted to allow more
study and social spaces; something Library
users have been asking for!

Creating art is not only fun, it builds shape
and color recognition, and it is one of the
ways young children build the fine motor
skills necessary to learn to write.
During this program, we’ll read a story and
then work on fun art projects! The use of
paint is likely, so come dressed to get a little
messy!

LITTLE CODERS 5: COMPUTER BASICS March 13 10:30-11:30
For ages 3-5. Pre-register.
Each program will have different games and activities that teach fundamentals of coding and nurture problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity.

It’s been shown that reading out loud helps children boost their reading confidence. What better way to practice reading than to have a mellow, 4-legged friend as a reading buddy!

‘Brown Bag’ Discussion Going Home: Louisville Residents Who Returned to the Old Country
Museum Coordinator Bridget Bacon will give a presentation about those who made long journeys back to their original homes to visit family after emigrating to the U.S. and living in Louisville for many years.

First Friday Art Walk Louisville’s Luck of the Irish
Irish immigrants were drawn to Colorado for its mining and other job opportunities, and they helped shape Colorado’s future. At this event, we’ll take a close look at the Irish men and women who came to Louisville and their impact on our town.
The Louisville Grain Elevator, early 1900s. It was built by John K. Mullen, an Irish immigrant who became a prominent businessman in Denver.

Museum Program The Coal Giants:
History of United Coal Company, Northern Coal Company and Rocky Mountain Fuel Company
Delving into the coal mining history of the Louisville-Lafayette area, Doug Conarroe will give a program based on research that he conducted for his new book entitled 80026: An Illustrated History of Lafayette, Colo., 1829-1929.
