More, Still More Like Thee
Come, nearer, nearer still; Let not Thy light depart;Bend, break this stubborn will; Dissolve this iron heart!
Less wayward let me be, More pliable and mild;In glad simplicity More like a trustful child.
Less of the flesh each day, Less of the world and sin:More of Thy Son, I pray, More of Thyself within.
More molded to Thy will, Lord, let Thy servant be;Higher and higher still, More and still more like Thee!
Words by Horatius Bonar (1808–1889); music by Bill Brandenstein

We hold a very high regard for Scripture at Grace Community Church. We believe it is the inerrant Word of God. Scripture is God’s
revelation to us. It informs us, convicts us, guides us, and encourages us. It is able to lead us to salvation. As Paul writes, “All Scripture is inspired [breathed out] by
God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Fundamentals of the Faith (FOF), a 16-week course that teaches the basic doctrines of the Bible, has provided a clear and straightforward approach to the study of Scripture at Grace Church for many years. The course helps to lay a foundation upon which spiritual lives can be built. It’s never too soon—or too late—to take a Fundamentals of the Faith class. The lessons provide both a broad overview of the Bible and closer looks at important topics. Major topics include the attributes of God, the work of Christ, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, salvation, prayer, worship, spiritual gifts, and evangelism. The focus is always on Scripture, that which God has revealed to us in His word.
Fundamentals of the Faith started here about forty years ago, and today more than 30,000 copies of the student workbook (English) are

sold each year. FOF has also been translated into more than thirty different languages, including Spanish, French, Korean, Arabic, Japanese, German, Chinese, Hindu, Tagalog, Russian, Creole, Swahili, and Urdu, to name just a few. The material is used in churches, Bible studies, small discipleship groups, and prisons; on the mission field; and for self-study all over the world.
FOF teachers at Grace Church have been through a rigorous training program. During twelve weeks of preparation, they are challenged in their abilities to dig out and teach biblical truth. They are required to write essays on complex doctrinal topics such as the trinity, the kenosis, predestination, and spiritual gifts. They study these subjects at a deeper level,

Building a Foundation on GOD’S WORD
God gives to the church those who teach the Word and faithfully live the truth that they teach. We are blessed here at Grace Church to actually see that lived out in front of our eyes through the lives of John and Patricia MacArthur. Our faith is strengthened and our love is increased—both for Christ and for our beloved pastor and his precious and faithful wife.
For 46 years of faithfulness in proclaiming God’s Word. With love and gratitude from your church family

so that they can explain them to the students in a way that is simpler to grasp. We are blessed to have about twenty Fundamentals of the Faith teachers serving in our ministry at any given time. Many of our teachers are seminary students who will eventually leave Grace Church to serve elsewhere, but FOF will go with them. All of the men who teach the course have the desire to serve God by sharing the truths of His word with others.
Here on campus we offer “small scale” Fundamentals of the Faith classes, averaging 10–12 students. This approach allows for plenty of interaction and discussion between the students and teachers, providing an excellent environment for learning. The classes remain together as a group throughout the
length of the course, and often a special bond develops between the students and teachers.
You can register for a Fundamentals of the Faith class at the table located on GraceWalk every Sunday morning. Classes meet on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings, and workbooks are available at the first meeting. FOF workbooks and teacher guides in English and Spanish are also available at the bookstore or online at gracebooks.com.
If you haven’t taken an FOF class, I encourage you to sign up this morning. As the psalmist writes, “The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple” (119:130). Come share in this blessing today.

Law Enforcement Appreciation DayFebruary 22 • 10:30 a.m.
In light of the recent national discourse on law enforcement, on Sunday, February 22, our pastor will honor these men and women for their commitment and service to our communities. We have extended an invitation to all the members of the law enforcement agencies in the greater Los Angeles area to attend our 10:30 a.m. service, followed by a special lunch held in their honor on our campus. Please be in prayer for our church as we attempt to demonstrate to unbelievers that the Bible teaches us to be subject to governing authorities because all civil authority is ordained by God.
