Why study Accounting?

The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting

provides introductory and advanced courses in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, taxation and information systems.

Eastern students develop both a theoretical and pragmatic understanding of how graduates operate as successful experts in accounting, auditing, taxation or management consultancy.

Skills Needed for a Career in Accounting

Students will acquire proficiency in:

Accounting methods, English, Mathematics, Information systems, Economics, Communications.

Students seeking professional careers in accounting, particularly with public accounting firms, are encouraged to pursue a graduate degree in Accounting.

Business Information Systems (BIS) is the application of information technology (IT) to organizational and managerial needs to provide business solutions.

A BIS major needs to be aware of:– what IT can contribute to an organization;– how to bring an IT solution to fruition;– and how IT opens up new opportunities to
