Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry User Guide!

This statewide system has been designed to support Alabama’s early care and education professionals. From training resources to career guidance and peer networking, Alabama Pathways to Quality Care & Education maintains an emphasis on what is most important – helping you provide quality care for Alabama’s children.

Participation in the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry will allow you to experience the rewards and satisfaction of public recognition of accomplishments (a certificate for administrators and parents to see), give you access to a network community of early educators sharing information and experiences, and provide you with contact informa-tion for technical assistance in your area.

Before you get started on your Enrollment Application, there are a few important things you need to know - • At this time, only Enrollment Applications for individuals whose center is eligible to participate in Alabama Quality

STARS will be processed and placed into the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry (PDR). If you have questions or need assistance with completing this application, contact us via e-mail at help@alabamapathways.org or by phone at (251)473-1060.

• There may be supporting documentation required along with your Enrollment Application. We encourage you to submit documentation of your highest level of education so that we can accurately place you on an Alabama Pathways Professional Development Lattice Level; however, this documentation is not always required by Alabama Quality STARS. Refer to the Alabama Pathways PDR Enrollment and Documentation Requirements chart to determine what documentation is required at each STAR level.

Submitting your application and supporting documentation online is easy! Follow the step-by-step instructions found in this User Guide to help you.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Go to the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry online homepage. (www.alabamapathways.org)

Step 2: Click on the “Registry” tab in the menu bar located at the top of the homepage.

Click Here

You are now at the Registry page. On this page, you will see instructions on how to apply along with additional information that you’ll need to consider before applying. All Alabama Pathways Professional Development Reg-istry forms are available to complete online or download and print the PDF application and apply via mail. This User Guide walks you through the process of applying online.

Step 3: Click on the online Enrollment Application link.

You will find other links to the online Enrollment Application further down the page. In these tabs, you will also find links to other Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry forms.

Now you are at the online application. The top of the page should say “Apply for The Registry”.

Step 4: Enter your information into the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry online Enrollment Application.The application is broken down into several sections. In every section, the fields marked with an asterisk indicate required information.

Step 5: Upload your supporting documentation.

It’s important to remember that supported document types include pdf, jpg, or png. The size limitation is 10MB per file. There are also several smart phone scanner apps that will convert photos to pdf format. We recommend Genius Scan, available on the Apple iTunes and Google Play Stores. If you don’t have a scanner, a cell phone photo of the document will do!

Choose the appropriate place for the file you are going to upload.Click on the “Choose File” button. This will open the file window on your computer. Choose the file that you want to attach to your application.

Follow these simple steps for each file that you are attaching.

Congratulations! You have completed the online application process. You will receive an immediate automated notification that your information was sent to the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry.

Once we review your documentation and the information you provided, we will place you at a level on the Alabama Path-ways Career Lattice (if applicable). You will receive an official Enrollment Verification Letter of your placement at that time. This letter will be sent to the personal email address that you provided in the application. If your application is incomplete or we need further information to determine your lattice level placement, we will contact you via email.

Step 6: Sign and submit your application.

You must click “SUBMIT” for your application to be sent.

Your name and today’s date go here.

Correspondence Samples

All correspondence with Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry will be done through e-mail, with the ex-ception of the official Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry Lattice Level Certificate. The following pages are sample documents that you might receive during the application process.

Immediately after successfully submitting your Enrollment Application online, you will receive an automated response in your e-mail inbox. This e-mail serves as a confirmation that your information has been successfully submitted to the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry. The auto-response confirmation will say:

“Your Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry Enrollment Application has been sent and an Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry Team Member will be processing your submission shortly.

At this time, only Enrollment Applications for individuals whose center is participating in Alabama Quality STARS will be processed and placed into the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Registry (PDR).

After your Enrollment Application has been processed, you will receive an Enrollment Verification Letter that verifies your participation in the Alabama Pathways PDR. This will be sent to your personal e-mail account.

If additional information is needed, we will notify you through your personal e-mail account.

This automated response does not indicate your lattice level placement or validate that you have submitted all of the necessary information. It simply confirms that your submission has been sent to us.

The Enrollment Verification Letter below is an example of what you will receive if you are not placed on a lattice level. This can happen if we do not have enough information or need additional documentation in order to make a lattice level determination. It can also occur if you do not have any documented education relevant to early childhood education and/or child development. (For example, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with no other documented education will result in a “No Placement” lattice level status.)
