WELCOME TO THE 4TH ANNUAL
JAZZ BRUNCHAND AUCTION
2
Welcome friends!Thank you for joining us for our 4th Annual Fall Fundraiser: the Sailing Heals Jazz Brunch and Auction! We have again been inspired by each of the 575 VIPs that we hosted this year and are overwhelmed by the generosity of our Host Captains and donors. Here’s the vitals on 2015:
575 VIPS Hosted + 155 Host Captains + 36 Days of sailing + 19 Ports involved +
9 States + 3 Rain days! = Great year!
In addition to continued outstanding support from our Founding Sponsor Panerai, we welcomed a new Corporate Sponsor, Eisai Pharmaceuticals! Eisai employees volunteered on 7 healing sails this year and we look forward to sharing their “hhc” philosophy (human health care) on many healing sails in the future.
Special thanks to YOU for being present today and to all of our Auction Donors as well as the Carlucci and Ollwerther families for their additional support for this event. More than 80% of our funding comes from private donations just like yours at events just like this so please bid (or putt!) high—and often—and don’t forget to take home one of our first-ever custom calendars!
Finally, the board and I would like to thank our wonderful volunteers at this event, the Greg Vrettos Trio, Hot Pineapple Productions, Larry Prentice who is offering his professional photography skills and Mark Belliveau for his floral talents.
Let’s sail on together into a great 5th season for Sailing Heals in 2016!

S ailing Heals
“Our VIP’s and their guests could not say enough regarding what a wonderful experience they had. The food was great, the boat ride was amazing, and the Sailing Heals staff and boat captains were a joy to be with. What a wonderful opportunity it was for some patients who had never been on a sailboat, let alone on an intimate, private sail. You certainly fulfilled your mission of providing a memorable day of healing on the water. Everything about the experience was perfect! It was well organized and allowed small groups of patients to share a relaxing afternoon in our beautiful environment that is easily overlooked when someone is focused on getting through cancer treatment or dealing with survivor issues. Our cancer center is located in an economically depressed area and many of our patients have financial struggles that would not allow them to book a ride on a sailboat. The fact that you offer a free program is outstanding! Thank you so much for what you do so well!”
– Susan Domingue LICSW, South Coast Cancer Center

A partial list of amazing things Greg can do.
Amazing because in 2004, Greg
was diagnosed with inoperable
lung cancer and given one year to live.
Nine years later, he’s alive and
well thanks to breakthrough
targeted cancer therapy from the
Mass General Cancer Center.
And now, for Greg and others like
him, every day is an amazing day.

We are proud to support Sailing Heals
“Any ordinary favor we do for someone or any compassionate reaching out may
seem to be going nowhere at first, but may be planting a seed we can’t see right now. Sometimes we need
to just do the best we can and then trust in an unfolding we can’t design or ordain.”
