Apply to SLCC New Freshman Application Requirements 1. Complete and submit admissions application.2. Submit official transcripts (high school and/or college).
• If student is currently attending a Louisiana high school or has graduated from a Loui-siana high school within the last 10 years and hasn’t earned any college credit, they will not need to complete this step.
• If student has graduated from a Louisiana high school over 10 years ago or from an out-of-state high school, they will need to request an official transcript be sent to SLCC.
• If student has earned a GED, they will need to request an official GED transcript.3. Submit official standardized test scores.
• We accept ACT, SAT, or COMPASS exam scores • Unofficial score reports will not be accepted
4. Submit immunization records.5. Once the above items have been received and processed into the student’s file, the stu-
dent may schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor.

Returning Student Application Requirements1. If student has attended SLCC in the
past but has missed a major semester (Fall or Spring), they will need to com-plete a new admissions application.
2. If student has earned any college credit since last attending SLCC, they will need to request an official transcript of those credits be sent to SLCC Admis-sions Office.
3. Once the above items have been re-ceived and processed into the student’s file, the student may schedule an ap-pointment with an Academic Advisor.
International Student Application Requirements1. Complete and submit admissions ap-

2. Submit official transcript for any previous high school or college coursework.3. Submit certified, English language, translation of any transcript submitted.4. Submit official TOEFL or IELTS score report.5. Submit copy of passport.6. Submit copy of Visa (if applicable).7. Submit copy of any previous I-20 (if applicable).8. Submit I-20 Transfer Form from past schools (if applicable).9. Submit immunization records.10. ›Paying for SchoolWe make it affordable for you to come to college. South Louisiana Community College is one of the most affordable colleges in the state, and there are several financial options for our new and continuing students.
1. Federal Financial Aid (PELL Grant)Prospective and current students are encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for financial aid at SLCC.
The FAFSA becomes available each January 1 for the upcoming academic year and should be completed as soon as possible to qualify for the maximum aid available. SLCC’s school code for the FAFSA is 039563.

2. Convenient Payment PlansStudents can split tuition into manageable payments through SLCC’s Student Accounts Office. Options range from 2-payment plans to 4-payment plans each semester. Students are encouraged to sign up early for payment plans prior to each semester to have access to the full variety of plans.

3. ScholarshipsSLCC has traditionally awarded more than $50,000 each year in stu-dent scholarships. Through the generosity of individuals and business-es across Acadiana, dozens of students get some or all of their tuition, fees, and books paid during their college journeys at South Louisiana Community College.
Scholarships are open for applications around April of each year for the upcoming academic year.
