Castle Time
What is Castle Time?
It’s a time for Norton faculty to work collaboratively to differentiate for the learning needs of every student in our grade level.
Who will be involved?Classroom teachers, ESL teacher, reading and math specialists and paraprofessionals.
What does it look like?For 30 minutes each day, students are grouped in order to address their specific learning needs (enrichment, intervention or both). Groups are flexible and change every few weeks.
Homework• Read 20 minutes every night (Mon.-Thur. recorded in log) • Practice math facts every night (Mon.-Thurs. recorded in log)• Math concept practice• Word work practice• Websites
• Due on Friday.
Grading and Report Cards9 week grading periods Progress reports include: reading, writing,
math, science, and social studiesGrades of 70 and above=passingSubjects graded: reading, oral written
communication (writing and word work), math, science, social studies
Handwriting, conduct, and specials (art, music, and PE) receive letter grades

• Complete Volunteer Background Check online-These must be re-submitted each school year!
