NOTICE OF CHANGES TO ELIGIBLE AREA MAPS FOR USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT HOUSING PROGRAMS USDA Rural Development is conducting a review of all areas under its jurisdiction to identify areas that no longer qualify as rural for housing programs. The last rural area reviews were performed in 2012-2013 using the 2010 census data. This review, which is done every five years, will utilize the 2015 American Community Survey (ACS) data. Based on the 2015 ACS data and rural area guidance located in Handbook HB-1-3550, Chapter 5, the rural eligibility designation is under review for the following areas: Arizona 1) Phoenix Area – Places Greater than 35,000 people 2) San Tan Valley – Places Greater than 35,000 people 3) Maricopa & Casa Grande – Places Greater than 35,000 people 4) Tucson – Places Greater than 35,000 people 5) Flagstaff – Places Greater than 35,000 people 6) New River & Anthem (Phoenix Area) – Contiguous, Rural In Character 7) Queen Creek (Mesa Area) – Contiguous, Rural In Character 8) Apache Junction & Gold Canyon (Mesa Area) – Contiguous 9) Buckeye (Phoenix Area) – Contiguous 10) Catalina & Oro Valley (Tucson Area) – Contiguous 11) Vail (Tucson Area) – Contiguous 12) Valencia West (Tucson Area)– Contiguous, Rural In Character, & Pascua Pueblo Yaqui Native American Reservation 13) Ft.
