• Welcome to our class, where you will learn the skills needed for an exciting new career!
• For those returning, welcome back!
IT’S UP TO YOU!!!
Uniform• Appearance is important• Clean, neat uniforms• Correct color
• PCT is PURPLE• May wear long sleeved
shirt under scrub top• Solid color• White preferred
• White shoes with white hosiery ONLY (socks, panty hose)
• A Watch is part of your uniform
Lab Coat
• Must be worn over your uniform in patient care areas
• Clean and neat• If you do not have
your lab coat you will not be allowed to be in lab
• During phlebotomy, lab coat must be buttoned
Jewelry
• No body piercing permitted
• Nose rings• Tongue rings• Lip rings• Multiple
earrings• Cheek rings• Eye brow• Anywhere else
you can pierce
• You are permitted to wear only 1 set stud earrings, wedding set, or class ring
• Second hand watch
• Natural, tasteful makeup may be wore
• Natural hair color only• pulled off
shoulders in pony tail or bun
• no extreme styles• Short, natural
fingernails only– No acrylics

Class Rules
No eating, drinking, or chewing gum
You are expected to be in class during class time
Observe break time, you will be marked tardy if you are late coming back from break
Break time
• Breaks are at designated times per policy.
• 10 minute length
• Student lounge is located on the first floor
Oaks Sandwich Shop• Is NOT part of
Concorde• Food must be eaten
before coming back to class
• Opened evenings Monday/thursday
NO CELL PHONES!During class or lab
Awards
• PCT pin• Awarded after 30
days of class. • Also called “class
pin”.
Perfect Attendence
• Never absent• Never tardy
• Class starts • 8:00 for mornings• 12:30 for
afternoon• 6:00 for evenings
• Never leave early• Class ends
• 11:50 for morning• 4:20 for
afternoon• 9:50 for evenings

• Symbol of medical professional
• Given to PCT students who have completed half of program
Lamplighter
• 4.0 GPA• No more than 5
absences entire program
Learning Resource Center
• Around the corner and down the hall from our class room.
• Mr. Ben Robinson is the LRC coordinator
• Computers, text books, journals, and other resources
Computer Lab
• Right next to our nursing lab
• Available for writing papers and doing research
Our Lab (patient care area) AKA Concorde Career
Hospital• Lab coat is
required• 50% of class
grade• Available for
practice when no class using it
• Realistic hospital setting
