Send it to: [email protected] ISSUE 1 SEPT 2012 Celebration Baton makes it Celebration Baton makes it through our Battalion with through our Battalion with Mayoral Pomp, Music and Mayoral Pomp, Music and Motor Bus Motor Bus Dateline: 6th Sept At two special events linked by a 1950 Bristol half-cab single-deck bus Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee message was welcomed into our area in some style. The Mayor of Wolverhampton entertained the BB in her Parlour and after members had all held the baton she passed it on to the bus for travel to Oakengates for a recep- tion with the Mayors of Telford & Wrekin and Oakengates. Hundreds of BB members have been involved in transporting the silver baton from Balmoral Castle to BB Council in London. At Oakengates with a background of photos, food and music the Loyal greeting of the Brigade which had been read by Andrew Watts in Wolverhampton was read again by Stuart Dunlop. Brigade Secretary Steve Dickinson attended our Shropshire event with Eric Hudson Director for England attending Wolverhampton. Leigh Maydew our District Executive member was at both events. After lots of photographs, speeches and chat the Baton was formally passed to Mr Jonathan Eales President of the BB in Northamptonshire to continue its journey south. A memorable night for the Battalion

1st Madeley Coy change Churches!It has just been announced that as from thestart of this Session the 1st Madeley will bepart of Sutton Hill Church (Anglican). Sometimein October it is hoped to arrange an official‘changeover’ service when their former church(Madeley Baptist) will officially hand on the BBColours with their blessing.Good luck to all at Madeley as they start a newchapter in their history.
