I would like to express my sincere thanks to all who helped with the special blessing ceremony last Sunday. It was an honor to have our

Bishop Joe Vasquez celebrate mass and bless our new building.

My deep gratitude goes to Paul Curtin and our building commit-tee for seeing the project through from beginning to end and to Bob Johnson for all of his work for the Capital Campaign which made the building a reality. For all who served in the liturgy and for the Knights of Columbus who served as honor guard, we are grateful.

We thank our RE volunteers and School teachers for serving as hosts/guides in all of the classrooms. Also, to all the parish organizations who baked and donated cakes for the reception last Sunday. We truly appreciate all your support!

Me gustaría expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos los que ayudaron con la ceremonia especial de la bendición el domingo

pasado. Fue un honor que nuestro obispo Joe Vásquez celebrara la Santa Misa y bendijera nuestro nuevo edificio.

Mi más profunda gratitud para Paul Curtin y nuestro comité de construcción por haber coordinado el proyecto de principio a fin, y a Bob Johnson, por todo su trabajo en la campaña cual hizo la construc-ción posible. Religious Education is in full swing. Classes have begun.

We are still taking registrations, just come by the office during our posted hours or call to make an appointment.

Catechist, Catechist Aides & RE Volunteers!With the new building addition, we are able to add multiple classes to all sessions. Praise God our parish is growing and we will be able to share our faith with so many parish children & youth. Please con-sider answering the call to serve and share your faith with our parish Religious Education Program. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact the RE Office.

We are struggling to find volunteers for the following classes:• Monday 4:30 pm - 4th Grade

• Monday 6:30 pm - Confirmation Year I, Confirmation Year II

• Wednesday 6:30 pm - Confirmation Year II

These classes have students registered and are ready to begin, but cannot do so, without a catechist. Please prayerfully consider answering the call to serve and share the faith with our youth!

Adult FAith EnrichmEnt - already begun this year as well for all Adults/Parents of our RE Students in both English and Spanish and are being held at the same time as RE classes. Everyone is welcomed!

Adult Faith Sacramental Sessions will be offered on: Thursday: Oc-tober 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19, 2015. These sessions run from 7:00-8:30 pm for 8 weeks. These sessions will prepare any Adult 18 years [who is out of HS] and or older to celebrate the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation or both. If you are interested in participating in these 8 weeks please contact Ms. Lupita Bodony at 512-312-2520, ext. 137 to register.

News from the Principal’s DeskThis past week was spent in testing and we are all glad that it

is over! We still will have some make-up tests to take care of this next week, but for the majority of our students, it is finished for another year. When the test results come in at the end of October, the teachers and I will begin to look at the data to determine how we are going to strengthen instruction to better serve our students.

This coming Friday, October 9th, is our Fall Break for students and staff. Then on Monday, Columbus Day, the students are still off, but the teachers and I will be traveling to the Mayborn Convention Center in Temple, TX for our Annual Diocesan Teacher Institute. The topic for this year’s workshop is forma-tive assessment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Education Building dedication last Sunday. It was wonderful to have Bishop Vasquez celebrate Mass and bless our new addition. Thank you to those who baked delicious cakes, cookies, and cupcakes for our refreshments afterwards, and thank you to all who set up, served, and cleaned up, too!

St. John Paul II Homeschoolers meet every Monday at St Anthony’s in Kyle. The gathering begins with Mass at 12:15. We have lunch with Fr. Jason every week and he presents a monthly lesson. There is a service project, an activity and play time for the children who break into two age groups (2-4) and (5-13.) We end with praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 2:30.
