Welcome to Orange County Children’s Theatre’s spring production of “Cinderella.” The talented kids you are about to see have put in countless hours rehearsing in order to bring this classic tale to life.

Orange County Children’s Theatre was founded in 1969 with the mission to provide op-portunities and instruction in theater arts to children and families throughout Orange County, but our organization provides so much more than that. OCCT is a safe place where all our children can feel free to be themselves while developing important life skills such as confidence and respect for others and oneself. We are more than a theater group; we are a family who takes pride in the success of all the children who perform. As you enjoy our show, know that it is a long history of volunteerism that gives life to what we do at OCCT and sustains this special organization. Thank you to all of our family and friends who have volunteered countless hours to bring this amazing show to life.

Special thanks to our directors, Kaitlyn Tice, Shannon Graham and Autumn Melody Thomas. We are thrilled to have your knowledge, expertise and creative energies in this production. Thank you to our Producer, Lorraine Ross, for keeping things moving smoothly and being strong role models for the kids. Thank you to our Executive Board and the Committee Leads who have given their time to make this the best show yet! As the President of this orga-nization, I am proud of the kids for their hard work and indebted to the parents, directors and volunteers who have given their all to bring our production to life.

I would personally like to invite you to get involved and help preserve the rare and special gift that is OCCT. We look forward to welcoming you into our family. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Thank you,Dan Lent

She hopes to have a classroom of her own soon but is content substituting and being Mama Graham until that day arrives. To the OCCT Family-Thank you for this wonder-ful opportunity to share my love of musical theater with another generation. To my mom and sister, Stephanie-Thank you for all your love and support over the years. To my wonderful husband, Eric-I would not be able to accomplish my dreams without your encouragement, love, and support. I love you! Muah!

Lauren RossAssistant ChoreographerLauren Ross is an 18 year old, OCCT alumni who started out as a telegrammer in Cinderella and finished as Glinda in the Wizard of Oz this past January, with many shows in between. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to come back and cho-reograph for the theater she grew up in. Lauren started dancing at the age of 4 and has kept with it for the past 14 years. She mainly focused on ballet training, but has also taken lyrical, jazz, hip hop, tap, and partnering classes. Lauren has performed in various dance shows with her studio, and has also performed at The White House in Anaheim, the OC Fair, and Disneyland. Lauren has also won numerous awards in local and international competitions, including placing 3rd with her dance company in the Barcelona Grand Prix in Spain. Lauren started choreographing at age 14 for her studio and couldn’t get enough of it because it combined her two passions: dance and teaching. She has choreographed 6 pieces since then, her most recent being a solo she performed at the Cappie Talent Show to represent her high school, Brethren Christian. Her junior year, she was the student choreographer for her school’s musical, Pinnochio, which got her nominated for a Cappie Award. She has choreographed many other pieces at her school and studio and holds each one of them in a special place in her heart. Lauren is currently a Liberal Studies Major at CSULB and plans on using her Education Specialist credentials for teaching and dance therapy. Thank you to the One who keeps me danc-ing: Jesus Christ, and his strength that never fails. Thank you so much to the OCCT board and the Directors for giving me this opportunity and to all the cast for working so hard! You all are wonderful and I know you’ll have a great show!

Have a wonderful show! We are so proud of you!!!

Since then Elizabeth has appeared in shows such as Seussical (Sour Kangaroo), Annie (Star-To-Be), Best of Broadway (Miss Hannigan/Elphaba), and most recently Wizard of Oz (Wicked Witch) all with OCCT. Also, Elizabeth has taken quite a variety of acting workshops, voice lessons, and dance classes beginning with Macker Entertainment and continuing at Or-ange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA). She started attending OCHSA six years ago, where she enrolled in her first Jazz class, and began to enjoy the art of dance. Elizabeth has, as such, training in teaching dance as well. She has been the dance assistant for another OCCT show, Oklahoma!. She has also been a teacher’s assistant for her dance teacher at OCHSA. As an old OCCT performer, Elizabeth is thrilled to be returning as the Telegrammer Choreographer. She wishes all of them luck and good wishes, and knows they will all shine on stage! Sammy Trujillo – Wolfgang the Chef / Cinderella’s FatherHello there. I have been doing OCCT shows for a couple of years. Some of my favorite roles have been Naphtali in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and Ike in “Oklahoma!” I enjoy wasting my time and childhood by playing video games and watch-ing television, both of which are ruining my eyesight and any sense of social skills I have previously had. Thank you for your time and enjoy the show.

Megan Walker - CinderellaHi there! This is my first lead role and I’m beyond excited to do this show. I’m 15 years old and in 10th grade at Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA) in the Inte-grated Arts conservatory. This is my second show with OCCT. I was a Tree and a Jit-terbug in “The Wizard of Oz.” Other shows I’ve done include “Honk!,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Once on This Island,” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” When I’m not performing, rehearsing or doing homework (which is rare), I love to watch old mov-ies, swim and play with my little sister, Sami. I feel like “Cinderella” is a part of me and OCCT has a very special place in my heart. I want to thank my parents for dealing with my constant theater shenanigans and supporting all of my endeavors, and our directors, Autumn, Kaitlyn, and Shannon, for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talents and making this show as amazing as it is. So sit back, relax and listen to the “Sweetest Sounds” you’ll ever hear – the cast of OCCT!

When I was four years old I joined a chil-dren’s beauty pageant and won the talent portion for singing “My Heart Will Go On.” I am a member of my school’s church choir and I enjoy it a lot whenever I get to sing a solo. I would like to be a singer someday and continue doing theatrical shows.

Jayson Ziegenhagen – Prince Christopher I am a senior at Wilson High School in Long Beach. I am very proud and excited to say that this is my third production with OCCT. I first fell in love with musical theater when I was cast as Frederick in “The Pirates of Penzance” in the 8th grade. As they say, the rest is history! Since then, some of my favorite stage experiences include “Cinderella” (Prince) with Go-Fame, “Hairspray” (Link) with Drama in the Middle, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” (Ephraim) with The Relevant Stage, “Grease” (Danny Zuko) and “Footloose” (Reverend Shaw) both with MTW & Wilson HS, and “Beauty and the Beast” (Beast) with OCCT. I plan to continue to study acting and singing in college with the ultimate dream of a career in the arts.
