Course Goals

ｷｷ Explore how media are used to construct meaning and/or persuade

ｷｷ Investigate how race, class, gender, etc. are represented in the mass media

ｷｷ Assess bias, stereotypes and information sources in the mass media

ｷｷ Compare different types of media ｷｷ Introduce critical evaluation of film as an art form, cultural form, and medium of communication

ｷｷ Gain hands on production skills through several group and individual projects in several different mediums

Late work!

» Absolutely no work will be accepted late.

» If you are absent due to illness you have 2 days for each missed day to make up your work.

» If you are gone for a school event or personal/family event you must get your work ahead of time. The assignment will be due on the regular due date.

Can I redo an assignment?

» Yes! If you are not happy with a grade you received on an essay or other writing assignment you may rewrite it and resubmit it for a better grade.

» 5 tabbed dividers» Pens and pencils» Paper for the binder» 2 different colored highlighters» Small sticky notes» Flash drive
