MAHOP has completed 14 years of education including pri-mary and lower secondary school. After secondary school he attended high school. When he graduated he started working. Currently he is studying to attain a few high school credits he is missing, so he can start studying at university in Denmark. He would like to spend another 8 years on his education, and

his career goal is to someday work with developing prosthet-ics. He has previously worked as a junior trader and an office manager. His native language is English and Portugese, and he speaks Danish and Spanish as well. He has not served in the military.

Describe the best holiday you have had: A trip from Fortaleza, Brazil to Riberalta, Bolivia to visit a few Brazil nut factories. Whilst in a boat going down an affluent of the Amazon river, the boat’s engine suddenly dies, and in-stead of worrying, we just sent out an SOS message, and opened a bottle of Rapariga de Quinta – a hilarious name for a bottle of wine – and await for people to come for a few hours.

What do you like the most about your own country?The nature – especially the contrast between the beaches in the Northeast (where I grew up) and the mountains in the South.

Who are your idols/heroes/heroines? Giuseppe Tornatore, Nani Moretti, Luis Buñuel– Amazing film directors who do their styles better than anyone else. René Redzepi – Incredible take on food and what an experience in a restaurant should be.

What are your goals in life? Achieve professional success – that is, creating something meaningful; have a small shop to talk about and sell home-brewed beer, wine, cheese, etc; successfully raising my chil-dren

What were your childhood dreams?When very young I had the crazy dream of having incredibly long armpit hair, so I could put gel on it and use it to fly.

Which values do you rank the highest?Honesty, self-respect.

Which childhood experience made the biggest impres-sion on you? As a small child, together with my brother, covering the entire kitchen in flour and blaming my infant sister when our parents caught us.

Which was your greatest experience or moment? Being able to follow the blues-trail from Louisiana to Chicago.

Happiest: Selling my first contract as a junior trader.

Funniest: Trying to retell an incredibly unfunny joke and laughing so hard at the process that I peed my trousers.

Scariest: Moving to Denmark.

Proudest: Being able to be self-sufficient when I left my par-ents’ home.

Most dangerous: Hitchhiking in the Brazilian countryside.

Greatest sorrow: First break-up.

What is your favourite colour? None.

What is your favourite animal? Platypus. The proof that natural selection truly is random.

What is your favourite kind of food? Probably pizza, but because of the variety in toppings one can have.

What is your favourite kind of music? Jazz and bossa nova. Perfect mix of ‘adventurous’ and relax-ing.

What is your favourite time of year? Autumn, because of the beauty of nature that time of the year.

What is your favourite book and/or author?Daniel Wallace. “Big Fish” is a truly amazing story about a father and son relationship.
