INVESTMENT STRATEGY IN OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

We have built an outstanding track record of high-impact client work in five core strategy areas: exploration, production, new energy segments, gas, and development. Our recent projects include the following:

Exploration:Advising multinational companies on optimizing its exploration portfolio for production volumes, risk, and returns in the short and long term, using our proprietary exploration-portfolio tool.

Corporate growth:Helping the multinational companies tackle falling production, a poor reserve-replacement ratio, and a collapse in total shareholder return by focusing the portfolio, finding new areas of growth, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction. After completing the project, the client saw production grow by more than 5 percent and made a major find in one of the new identified growth areas.

New energy segments: supporting an integrated oil company with mapping future global energy systems in 20 different segments, analyzing investments in the various segments using different future energy scenarios, and helping identify which segments to play in and how to win in them.

Gas: Working with West African government to develop a gas master plan to meet 2030 demand—including an overview of supply sources and marginal costs at various supply levels—and to establish the implicit cost of meeting a given market demand. The project determined optimal pathways for gas-to-power industrial and commercial supply chains to maximize economic impact.

Development: LAKELGATEWAY partake in well development, after exploration has being concluded in an economically on our client's recoverable field(s), and involves the construction of one or more wells from the beginning (called spudding) to well completion if hydrocarbons are found in sufficient quantities.

BITUMEN EXPLORATION

Bitumen includes hydrocarbons such as asphalt and mineral wax. Bitumen is often called asphalt, though that name is almost universally used for the road-paving material made from a mixture of gravel, sand, and other fillers in a bituminous binder. Bitumen is also frequently called tar or pitch—though, properly speaking, tar is a by product of the carbonization of coal and pitch is actually obtained from the distillation of coal tar.

Method

A method for treating a field containing bitumen for subsequent production is described and the steps central to the process are drilling a horizontal well within the oil-bearing stratum, and heating the oil in the vicinity of the horizontal well to produce a hot liquid corridor. The open borehole is filled and the oil in the heated corridor is displaced from one end to the other. The corridors may be connected in various configurations to effectively displace a high percentage of oil in a particular field.

A method for treating a field having a reservoir containing bitumen comprising the steps of:providing at least two boreholes extending downward from the surface at least into the reservoir, providing at least one generally horizontal borehole within the reservoir connecting at least two boreholes extending from the surface, introducing a heated fluid into said horizontal borehole in an amount sufficient to at least soften said viscous oil or bitumen for a distance substantially along said at least one generally horizontal borehole within the reservoir, substantially plugging said at least one horizontal borehole within the reservoir, introducing a heated displacement fluid into at least one borehole extending downward from the surface within the reservoir at the juncture between the plugged borehole said downwardly extending borehole, and withdrawing bitumen from a borehole extending downward from the surface at a point remote from the displacement fluid introduction point.

Jul 2008 to Nov 2010 GENERAL MANAGER: Order Efficiency Ltd (Cameron / Total USAN Project - Nigeria)

This was a private commercial venture to introduce a new management concept into the Oil and Energy industry. It started as a trial alignment with an Indigenous Nigerian Company contracted to Cameron/Total (Nigeria).

Project Health Control (PHC) is a unique management tool that improves the time to complete projects considerably. I attempted to commercialise the methodology against a background of successful previous part implementations on some high profile projects (OKLNG, WLGP).

The first 9 months of this venture was based in Nigeria. During this time and due entirely to the application of PHC under my direction, the part of the indigenous company transformed from certain impending failure to resounding success.

An example of innovation that triggered the turnaround was the implementation of an incentives scheme that increased weekly project revenue by 43% over 3 weeks and a Deliverables Tracking database for the project’s engineering documents - part of the Project Health Control system.

While in Nigeria, I was responsible as General Manager for a newly formed Lagos Office and Project Manager for Total’s USAN project (Subsea manifold development) that involved liaison with Client Company (Cameron) and control of workload for 22 engineering staff.
