Working closely with partners, volunteers and donors, Second Harvest Heartland's aim is to efficiently d effectively end hunger through community partnerships. They distribute more than 51 million pounds of food and grocery products annually to nearly 1,000 food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and programs in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Focus of the Agency: Serves children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. Programs and services include advocacy and family support, information sessions on disability issues and support groups for siblings, parents and caregivers and self-advocates. Arc leads the region influencing public policy around disability issues.
Volunteers will: Help unpack and sort donations, such as clothing, household items, books, toys, jewelry, etc. and help get them ready for the sales floor. Other volunteer projects include helping to hang and tag clothing, price sticker hard goods and stock the merchandise on the sales floor.

Focus of the Agency: Community Emergency Service (CES) is a non-profit crisis relief and empowerment ministry that extends God's love to South Minneapolis. Located in the Phillips (Ventura Village) Neighborhood, CES provides services to over 70,000 people annually. Community Emergency Service provides high-quality, direct service to people with emergency and ongoing needs. In each "crisis interview," an attempt is made to go beyond stated needs in order to discover and help resolve underlying issues that may be contributing to the crisis.Volunteers will: deliver "ani-meals" (food packs for pets) to homes with pets, help sort food donations and assemble food kits. Focus of the Agency: Hope for the City exist to improve lives by distributing corporate surplus to organizations who serve those in need next door and around the world. Since its inception, Hope for the City has given more than $480 million in wholesale value of goods to organizations serving those in need, saving valuable resources from our landfills, and giving hope to people in need in our local communities and beyond. Volunteers will: Sort and repackage medical supply items for re-distribution locally and around the world.We are looking for individuals who have experience cutting patterns. Focus of Agency: Bundles of Love is an all volunteer non-profit charity that makes clothing and bedding for sick babies and babies whose families are in severe financial need. They pack between 28 and 32 items in each "bundle" and then deliver them to local hospitals, women's shelters and clinics, where the social workers give them to the babies that need them the most.Volunteers will: Cut sheets and receive blankets for sewing projects, tie quilts, use snappresses that set the snap closures into the fabric, stuff toys and assemble bundles.
