creation, speaker sourcing and management, venue
and catering and providing the video opener.
Journey9 was appointed to manage The North West
Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) Annual
Conference on behalf of The Manufacturing Institute
(TMI) in 2010 and 2011.
Journey9 designed and delivered an event which
not only attracted over 200 leading manufacturers
from a cross section of SMEs and large organisations
from across the North West, but an event which
surpassed the client’s objectives. The positive
feedback from speakers and delegates was
unprecedented.
The smooth running of a complex programme meant
that Journey9 was retained to deliver a series of MAS
masterclass events throughout 2011.
We delivered full event marketing which involved
print and e-marketing as well as on-going telesales
activity. Our brief also included the creation of a
dedicated conference website, managing online
registrations, delegate management, production and
technicals for the event, plus full on the day floor
management and delivery.

The Journey9 team has been working with top
national professional services firm, BDO, for many
years. BDO is the award-winning UK member firm
of the BDO international network, the world's
fifth largest accountancy organisation, with more
than 1,000 offices in over 100 countries.
Journey9 was tasked with the creation and
execution of each event and was responsible for
venue and catering management, sourcing and
securing appropriate keynote speakers and
panellists, managing all production and technical
elements, full event, venue, production and floor
management on the evening.
In 2010 and 2011, Journey9 was briefed to create
and deliver three exclusive VIP dinners for the
firm across its Leeds, Birmingham and
Manchester offices to coincide with the
publication of BDO’s annual Trend Reports.
Having worked on a number of projects with
Laura Wolfe, her trusted personal brand
underpins Journey9. We recently used the team
on the Northern roll out of a key national
campaign and flagship event across three regions
and their delivery was creative, personable and
flawless on the day.

In May 2011, following a three-way pitch, Journey9
was appointed to project manage the inauguration
of the UPM Shotton Paper Mill in North Wales.
Our responsibilities included sourcing and managing
the build, design, theming and logistics of a large
luxury marquee, all production and technicals,
securing a local Welsh-themed caterer, plus full
guest and floor management on the day.
The UPM inauguration was attended by over 350
delegates including a number of international VIPs.

events on a large scale meant we exceeded our
client’s expectations
Journey9 impressed us at the pitch with their
professionalism and their attention to every detail.
They proved they were head and shoulders above

on what is a very important project for UPM. Their

hosts, ITV’s Lucy Meacock and Snooker’s Willy
Thorne in the run up to the event and on the night.
We liaised closely with both hosts regarding
fundraising targets and logistics relating to the
event.

I would like to express our sincere thanks for the
terrific work of Journey9 at the inaugural
Breakthrough Glitter Ball 2011. The whole team was
amazing. We were delighted with everything you
delivered from start to finish and your invaluable
support has meant that Breakthrough Breast Cancer
is now on the map in a way that it was not before.
Journey9 was briefed to create and deliver
the inaugural Glitter Ball for the North West
Breakthrough Breast Cancer Appeal. The
event was held at the Hilton in Manchester
City Centre.
The charity was delighted to surpass its already high
target of £100,000 by raising a total of £110,000 on
the night.
The Appeal’s first fundraising ball was
attended by stars of some of Britain’s best
loved soaps, Manchester’s ‘Great and Good’,
as well as 400 guests including world-class
researchers and breast cancer clinicians, who
all joined forces to smash Breakthrough Breast
Cancer’s fundraising target.
Journey9 was tasked with the production and
technical execution of the event within a
specified budget, as well as all venue
management and liaising with and briefing all
hosts and entertainers.
Our first-rate planning and execution
ensured a memorable evening for all.
Journey9 managed the entire production of
the event on the evening, including briefing
and full rehearsals with all hosts, speakers
and entertainers as well as coordinating the
live auction which was the main fundraising
event on the night.
Journey9 is passionate and committed to giving our
support to charitable causes. In 2011, we have been
actively involved in supporting The Royal Manchester
Children’s Hospital, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and
iNspire-the Charity Incubator.

In May 2010, Journey9 devised and delivered
an award-winning experiential marketing
campaign for Jaguar UK.
Jaguar appointed Journey9 for three key reasons -
our unrivalled network in the North West, our
bold and innovative ideas and the fact that we
could deliver on budget - within extremely tight
deadlines.
Journey9 was responsible for all campaign elements
including the creative strategy, communications plan,
social media, PR, advertising, sponsorship and
operational logistics for 19 separate events.
Success of the campaign was measured in test drives,
lead generation, increase in dealership enquiries and
number of people exposed to the cars.
• 63% increase in dealer enquiries directly
attributed to the campaign

Manchester Celebrates Jaguar was a month long
campaign designed to connect the rejuvenated
Jaguar brand with core target markets in
Manchester.

Journey9 manages the social media for ‘Gluten
Freely’, an e-commerce solution and online
community of over 100,000 people, which global
food giant General Mills has developed in partnership
with our US sister company, BrandJourney Venturing.
Our core digital team brings both years of
experience and up-to-the-minute digital
expertise to each of our projects.
Journey9 has a strong understanding of digital
and social media that allows us to create and
manage campaigns and solutions that will ensure
engagement with target audiences directly in the
spaces where they live online.
Journey9 was commissioned to write a three year
digital marketing strategy for United Utilities, as
well as deliver a series of social media workshops
for the United Utilities communications team.
Through our workshops and digital strategy, we were
able to ensure the full integration of social media
into United Utilities communications plans and help
them to manage online conversations with their
customers more effectively.
Journey9 created and delivered bespoke social
media training for our communications team.
They spent time understanding our particular
circumstances and requirements and tailored the
course to suit our needs. They provided detailed
documentation and excellent training days that
were professionally delivered, enjoyable and
comprehensive.

In the US, we manage the day-to-day activity
of the business whilst in the UK, Journey9 is
responsible for managing the site’s social
media channels.
Brand Journey Venturing is also working in partnership
with General Mills to deliver another exciting e-
commerce project, Red Spoon Squad.
This site is where shoppers can learn about new
recipes, get personalised online instructions suited to
their cooking experience, and arrange for visits to
their homes from Red Spoon Squad experts.
