Drop-off and Pick up ➢ Front loop is for buses only. No student drop-off. ➢ Go straight down Declaration Way. ➢ Do not turn at the first left, instead continue to
second left. ➢ Parents should use drop off lane near the H-wing. ➢ AM- The lane closest to the building ➢ PM- Two lanes for pick up

Entrance Procedures ➢ No students are allowed inside the building before 7:00am or

(emergency pass) for the semester. After that is used, they will receive a detention.
Late Start Procedures ➢ First day of each week, 45 minutes is set
aside for teacher PLC meetings. Therefore, school begins for students at 8:25 on those days.
➢ Buses still run at normal time. There will be supervised areas designated for students who arrive early.

Attendance Policies

➢ Always send in or email a note for an absence.
➢ The first 8 absences can be a parent note or a medical note.
➢ After the first 8 absences, medical notes are required to excuse absences.
➢ Absences and checkouts are not automatically excused.
Excused Absences ➢ Illness of the student. The principal may require a doctor’s statement. Although a
doctor’s statement may be required at any time for an absence to be excused, it will be required after 8 absences of any kind.
➢ Illness in the immediate family which requires absence of the student. A doctor’s statement may be required.
➢ Medical Appointment A medical excuse note must be provided. The doctor’s office can fax a note to Student Services at 615-472-4624.
➢ Death in the immediate family (should not exceed 5 days). ➢ Religious holidays regularly observed by persons of the student’s faith. A
statement from the minister or other person recognized by the given religious group may be required.
➢ College Visit. An official letter from the college will be required in order to have the absence excused.
➢ Absences for other reasons as approved by administration

Communication ➢ Please email your child’s teacher first, counselor and/or
principal if you have questions or concerns. ➢ If you did not receive an email yesterday afternoon, confirm
your email address and phone number is correct in Skyward. ➢ Some carriers block our messages. We have a handout
with directions to ensure delivery.
