Dharadam is an online role playing game to sensitize social workers for working in the slums. It uses Dharavi (Mumbai) as example. The software has been built upon the Cyberdam platform. Dharadam was created during the 5th ISAGA Summer School in Delhi, India, 21-30 June 2008 by Aashish Bhardwaj (India), Vinod Dumblekar (India), Renata Furman (Poland), Monica Mor (India), Vladimir Solodov (Russian Federation), Joanna Woźniakiewicz (Poland) and team manager Pieter van der Hijden (The Netherlands).

A mega slum located in Mumbai, India, and is Asia's second largest slum with an area of 175 hectares.

Close to 1 million people reside here Has severe problems - scarcity of

toilet facilities, water supply, electricity and other infrastructural requirements

Come from various religious and ethnic backgrounds from different parts of India

Are quite well off, still continue to stay here

Many are employed in hutment factories / small scale industries within Dharavi

One of the major industries' that has come up is the recycling factory which processes a lot of recyclable waste collected from other parts of Mumbai
