To establish initial-eligibility at an NCAA Division I or II college or university, a "core course" must meet all of the following criteria:
• A course must be a recognized academic course and qualify for high school graduation credit in one or a combination of the following areas: English, mathematics, natural/physical science, social science, foreign language, and philosophy.
• A course must be considered four-year college preparatory by the high school (Concept level classes do not apply).
