We also like the bistrot du terroir with a more elaborate cuisine (reservation mandatory). A mention for the tea flower tea room where we come to warm up in the winter afternoon, without children. You will find garbage bags under the sinkYellow bags : recyclables (plastic packaging, yogurt pots without seals, papers, bottles, metal packaging) pickup on Wednesday evening , take out the bags around 6.30pm White bags : not recyclable, pick up on Monday evening and Thursday evening from 6.30 pm You can store the bags in the trash near the clothesline. Compost : If you wish, you can put in the wood compost bins of the garden your vegetable waste (peelings, damaged fruits ... ). Neither eggshell, nor meat nor starchy to avoid attracting snakes and rodents. This waste can also be put in the white bags.

On « the Putois racecourse », you can attend horse races and bet. There is a second area dedicated tohorses, the equestrian stadium of the large park which hosts in an exceptional setting competitions of dressage and obstacle fool (access is usually free).

Travel around

Go to the center of Compiègne;-)

By foot it takes 25 minutes to go You can come back by bus (free except on Sunday = 1 Euro). The stops nearby are line 1 : Victoire= nearby modern church, ligne 2 Bonnault Square, and rarely line 6 Verdun,By car you can park in the paying indigo car parks or park in the parking lots of the prefecture which are more farer but free, close to the castle park .

Go to Paris

You can take the train to Gare du Nord in Paris ( 50 minutes ) or take the car ( 50 minutes without traffic jam ). In this go to a parking near a metro. It’s impossible to move by car in paris and very difficult to parck.

Go to London

Book two train tickets : one from Compiègne to Paris, the second from Paris to London. The correspondence take place in the same station « gare du nord » but you need one hour and a passport to cross the frontier.

This starting point remains a unique place in the forest near the« grimp a l’arbre » (climb to the tree’s) facilities, with possibility ofhaving a barbecue. From here, you can climb to the top of Mont SaintPierre, Mont Saint Marc, walk to Pierrefond in the forest or take amore traditional walk. Our favorite, the tour of the ponds (1h).Possibility to go around the second pond.

Perspective of the beau monts

A legend claims that Princess Eugenie had the perspective of the beautifulmountains (allée des beaux monts) built in one night. This small route takes you right behind the house. In the part of the forest aptly named " the
