Transcript of Welcome to charles whiting photography

For years I lived on the Southeast Florida coast where my wife Lynn and I studied

and photographed the reefs and wrecks from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale.

We did most of our diving on a stunning reef line from Boynton Beach south to

Delray Beach. We also frequented the Upper Florida Keys, with its famous wrecks

and pristine reefs.

Most of the underwaterphotographs in the galleries weretaken with a Canon digital SLRcamera in an Ikelite underwaterhousing, using Ikelite DS-50, DS-125, and DS-160 TTL strobesystems. Some of the photographswere taken with a Nikonos Vamphibious camera, Nikon SB-105strobe, and Fugichrome Velvia 50slide film.

Since 2011, I've been using aCanon 7D in an Ikelite housingwith Ikelite DS-160 strobes. Forunderwater photography at night, Iuse a Light and Motion SOLAPhoto 500 Lumen framing light.

Equipment and Workflow

The photographic stylesrepresented here include macro,close-up, portrait, and wide-angle.For underwater macro and close-up shots I generally use 50mm,60mm, and 70mm lenses.Although some of the close-upshots were taken with a close-uplens and wire framer on theNikonos V system. For underwaterwide angle photography, I useeither a Canon 15mm fisheye lens,or a Nikonos 15mm wide-angle

lens.

Most of the shots that wereilluminated by strobes were takenwith the aperture set to f11,shutter speed set to 1/60th of asecond, and ISO set to either 50 or100. Read morewww.charleswhitingphotography.com
