Blessed Teresa Adult Choir Looking for Recruits — Come Join Us!
The Blessed Teresa Choir is currently looking for new members, and all are welcome! Practices are Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and the choir sings on Sunday mornings at either the 9:30 or 10:30 am Mass. Remember, singing is like praying twice! Please contact our Choir Director, Bill Erickson, for details at 262-966-7010 ext. 105 to leave a message (name, e-mail address or phone) or e-mail [email protected]
MONTHLY ENVELOPE In order to make a modest reduction in the cost of our contribution
envelopes, we will be eliminating the “monthly” envelope. For
those opting to make a single contribution each month, please feel
free to use any of the weekly envelopes. Thanks.
LOAVES AND FISHES MEAL Mark your calendars for the Loaves & Fishes meal on Sun-day, October 23. We will need ―chicken‖ bakers, desserts, and helpers. Contact Shaun Pavlic at [email protected] or call 367-9995 if you can help in any way. Sign-up sheets are also located in the back of both churches. Thank you.
Christian Women… The October Christian Women meeting will be Monday, October 10, at 7:00 pm in Clare Hall for a fleece blanket-making gathering. No experience necessary. Many hands are needed for an evening that promises to be both fun and enlightening. All ladies in the parish are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
COMMISSIONS MEETING The first meeting of parish commissions will be Monday, October 10th, at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. For more information about volunteering on a commission, contact Mary Jo Romportl in the parish office at 966-2191.
FALL CLEAN-UP DAY The days are shorter, the temperatures cooler, and the leaves are falling. We are looking for helpers with rakes & clippers to clean up both the North Lake & Monches campuses on Saturday, October 22 from 8 to 10 am. Hot/cold beverages and doughnuts to keep up your strength. Families are encouraged to join the fun and hoping the sun will smile on us. Call Chris Dailey at 414-651-3950 to say you are interested.
St. Vincent de Paul Blood Drive Thursday, Oct. 20, 2 to 7pm, Parish Center
Blood is needed everyday by patients who are dependent on people like you. Chemo recipients, surgical, trauma, and OB patients are some of the people helped. While 60% of the population is eligible to donate, only 5% actually do, which is why your donation makes a tremendous impact right here in S.E. Wisconsin. The Blood Center of Wisconsin will run the blood drive on Thursday, October 20. Call Marilyn Guenther at 262-966-3540 for an appointment.

ROMAN MISSAL REVISIONS AND OUR
PARTICIPATION From our series of bulletin articles, articles in public media and Catholic press, Fr. Stephen Malkiewicz’s presentations in our parish this past spring, and recent instructions at Mass — we know that the words of our prayers at Mass have been in a process of study and revision for decades. These revisions are part of an ongoing liturgical renewal since the Second Vatican Council in the mid 1960’s. Early translations of the Latin Missal and revisions of the Latin Missal itself — most recently in 2002 — have been thoroughly reviewed, researched, and retranslated into a new English version, approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2009 and given final approval by the Holy See in 2010. The date of implementation has been set for the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of our new Church Year, on November 27. Some of the major sung prayers at Mass such as the Amen, Alleluia, and the Lamb of God litany will remain the same, but the Gloria, Holy, Memorial Acclamations and several responses have been changed so that they better correspond to the official Latin text, reflect their scriptural and historical roots, and are unified with the English-speaking Catholic churches of the world. We have been encouraged to begin singing some of the revised parts such as the Holy, the Gloria and the Memorial Acclamations in advance of the full implementation in Advent. The major changes are now available to us on pew cards in our churches, and these changes will be included in all of our new editions of Breaking Bread worship books in November. We are asked to refer to these new and revised parts of our Mass frequently in the coming weeks so that we can all make these prayers part of our fall participation. Please remember to return the cards to their places in the pews after Mass. ~Bill Erickson
BAPTISMAL PREPARATION SESSION The next Baptismal Preparation session will be on Tuesday, November 15, at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. Please call the parish office, 262-966-2191 as soon as possible to register for this session. Parents are encouraged to take this formation session prior to the birth of their child.
Our SVDP conference will be sponsoring a ―REVERSE COLLECTION‖ on October 15 & 16 at church to obtain items for the food pantry that are in most demand. Slips stating these articles will be given out by the ushers during Mass. Please return your purchased donations to the bins which will be located at the side exits and inside the front entrance of both churches the following week. Envelopes for monetary contributions will be available at the end of the pews and can also be returned the next week in the collection baskets. Please make your check payable to North Lake Food Pantry. Our client base using the food pantry continues to grow and your donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and support, and may God bless you.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Every weekday from 7:30 am
Until 8:00 am Mass, North Lake. Come and pray. Come and listen.
Please note… Kindly leave the new Mass cards in the pews at church. If you took one home to look at last weekend—please bring it back this week. Thank you.

4 Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish - www.blteresaparish.org
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
L ord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love:
Where there is injury, pardon: Where there is despair, hope: Where there is darkness, light: And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to Be consoled as to console: To be understood as to understand: To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
ROSARY RALLY There will be a Rosary Rally for the United States held at the
Archdiocesan Marian Shrine on October 15th

about 7,000 similar rallies around the country on that day and
time. The shrine is located at 141 N. 68th St. in Milwaukee.
Please bring a lawn chair because this is an outdoor event. For
questions, contact [email protected] or call 262-970-9097
evenings. Or you could come to the Rosary Rally on the same date
and time at the Schoenstatt Shrine, W284N404 Cherry Lane
in Waukesha. Parking is available in the circular drive at the

For questions or directions, call Rita at 414-321-8006.
Every human being, at every stage and condition, is willed and loved by God. For this reason, every human life is
sacred. To deprive someone of life is a grave wrong and a grave dishonor to God. Because we are created in the
image of God, who is Love, our identity and our vocation is to love. Pope Benedict has called this "the key to [our]
entire existence."
WOMEN’S PRAYER LUNCHEON The TYME OUT youth center will have a women’s prayer luncheon on Tuesday, October 11, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The topic is ―Be encouraged with the Love of God through Music.‖ Carrie Labinski, the speaker, is a
Christian musician who sings and plays guitar to share the love and hope of Christ. Her passion is to help others deepen their relationship with the Lord. Through her
original songs and heartfelt sharing, listeners will have the opportunity to experience God’s healing love. Please
call Margie at 262-966-1800 to RSVP.

“Knowing the value of marriage and family, we as Christians attach great importance to defend the integrity and the uniqueness of marriage between one man and one woman from any kind of misinterpretation. Here is the common engagement of Christians, including many Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox, which makes a valuable contribution to build up a society equipped for the future.”
