The TMS expectation is that you should go to the restroom between classes.
If you have an emergency and need to use the restroom during class:
1. Fill out your agenda on the appropriate day/page.
2. Hold it AND YOUR AGENDA up to signal to me that you need to be excused
to the restroom.
3. Once I have acknowledged that it is okay for you to go, SIGN OUT ON THE
BOARD and leave without disrupting instruction. Make sure you put the time that you returned to class.
4. Upon return, quietly return to your seat without disrupting instruction!

Dismissal from classWhen Mrs. Van Rossum (or any other adult) tells you it is time to pack up:
Clean out your instrument and put it back in the case.
Put your instrument in your cubby (unless you are taking it with you).
Put your binder next to your instrument or take it with you.
Clean up the area around your seat.
SIT IN THE SEAT THAT YOU SAT IN ALL CLASS PERIOD
quietly until the adult in the rooms dismisses you. DO NOT, I
REPEAT, DO NOT LEAVE WHEN THE CLOCK TURNS TO
DISMISSAL TIME OR WHEN THE BELL RINGS…WAIT FOR
THE ADULT TO DISMISS YOU!!
WALK calmly, quietly out the main bandroom exit and go to your next class. DO NOT EXIT THROUGH THE HANDICAPPED RAMP!! Walk quietly and remain on the right side of the hallway.
Powerpoint TemplatesPage 25
Protecting and Insuring Your InstrumentMany problems with instrument mix-ups can be avoided if students keep their cases well identified.
ALL INSTRUMENTS MUST HAVE THE STUDENT’S NAME DISPLAYED
ON BOTH ENDS OF THE CASE!!!
It is a good idea to record your instrument’s brand and serial numbers with your homeowners insurance and keep the information in a safe place at home. Check to be sure you have
insurance coverage that will cover loss, theft or damage while as school (during the day or after hours). NO INSTRUMENTS SHOULD BE LEFT AT SCHOOL OVER EXTENDED
HOLIDAYS.
If an instrument is broken, PLEASE bring it to the band director FIRST! Do not let anyone try to fix it – they may make the problem worse. Mrs. Van Rossum can easily do many repairs. If the instrument has to go to the shop, a DATED note or email from parent/guardian is required
on the day you come to school without the instrument.
