What are the rules in this classroom?
• Arrive to class on time.
• Come to class prepared and ready to learn.
• Be respectful!

• What do I do when the bell rings?

You should remain seated making sure that your area is clean. The teacher dismisses, not the bell. When I dismiss you, push your seat in and walk slowly to the door.
What will I be doing this year?This year you will be expected to take on many
different responsibilities in order to have a successful year.
• Complete daily journal entries (i.e. “Quick Thinker”).
• Labs• Quizzes and Tests• Projects• Reading and Homework

• Integrated Science 2 is built upon two areas of science:

2. Earth Science

• Motion and ForcesCalculate speed, accelerationNewton’s Laws of MotionGravity, friction, pressure
• Big Idea: Physical forces affect the movement of all matter on Earth and throughout the universe
Earth Science
• Earth’s Surface• The Changing Earth• Earth’s Waters• Earth’s Atmosphere
• Big idea: Earth has changed over time and continues to change.

Grading Procedures
• Each assignment will be assigned a certain number of points.
• Points determined by length and difficulty of assignment.
• Points accumulate during the nine weeks and can be converted to a percentage at any time.

Grading Procedures• Homework
– All homework is expected to be turned in at the beginning of class on the day that it is due.
– Late homework will be accepted for ½ credit as long as it is turned in by Friday of the week that it was assigned.
**REMEMBER- ½ credit = 50% at the most!!
