Assignment Expectations• All classroom, practice work, and group work is required

in order to be successful. Students are allowed three (3) late assignments for credit per semester, using the Late Assignment Form, where students are required to explain why the work is late and what they can do in the future to make sure assignments are turned in on time. Any work turned in after one (1) week without a Late Assignment Form will receive a zero. Students who are chronically late with work will receive a Late Work Notice which must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned the next day.

• Students are encouraged to rework problems missed (“redo”) on a test or quiz. Learning is reinforced when students rework problems to discover and correct their errors.

Academic Interventions

• I advise students at the beginning of the week which days I’m available after school for additional help from 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

• Students who stay after school MUST fill out a Study Club “To Do” list – this helps me know what they need to work on and helps them stay accountable

Measure of Student Progress (MSP) and Common Core State Standards

• Measurements of Students Progress (MSP)The name of the MSP, given to students in grades 3-8, conveys the goal of the test: to measure student progress. Students will take the MSP this spring, 2014.

• Beginning in the spring of 2015 students will be required to take the Common Core State Standards assessment.

Discipline/Behavior Issues

• It is my hope that discipline and behavior issues will not be a major factor. However, in the event it is necessary for me to address certain behaviors, such as a student interfering with another’s learning, Evergreen has a standard management system as follows:

• first warning is verbal

• second warning is verbal with redirection

• third warning is verbal and student is moved to another area of the room

• If the student continues to be disruptive he/she is sent to a Buddy Classroom where a Plan of Improvement will need to be completed and approved before returning to his/her original classroom. This Plan of Improvement will become a permanent record in the student’s file, and parents will be notified

• ANY actions that create an unsafe environment, or if behaviors are repetitive, will be referred to an administrator
