Each Parent/Guardian can and should have access to see their

child’s grades.

Please see Ms. Davis in the office for the Parent Portal form.

On Thursdays, students will be recording their weekly grades, LiveSchool Points, attendance and tardies. These sheets will be brought home and should be signed and reviewed by you.

PHYSICAL EDUCATIONDRESSING OUT - CLOTHING

All students will have P.E either 1st

Semester or 2nd Semester.

A PE fee of $7.00 is to be given to the Homeroom Teacher. The student will then receive a PE shirt from his/her PE Teacher.

Bottoms can be of any color to include shorts, sweatpants, athletic pants, yoga pants, or leggings. Tennis shoes are required!

PLAYING SPORTS TEAM MANAGER / PHYSICALS

1. In North Carolina, sports are reserved for our 7th and 8th Graders.

2. 6th Graders can be Team Managers; students should check with the coaches.

3. Physicals are required for all students to try out or play sports (must be within the 24 months of the try-out date).

ORCHESTRA / BAND

• Anyone can join! No prior experience necessary.

• Specific instrument selection/acquisition is in the Fall.

• 6th grade is the ONLY time to begin learning an instrument.

• Finances should not be a limiting factor.

• These are in-school classes with astate curriculum.

• After-school expectations: consistent practice, participation in concerts.• Athletes can still participate in music!

Middle School students want independence. They typically no longer want their mom or dad to come eat lunch with them .

However, they still need YOU! They want you to ask about their day. They need you to check on them.

The way you dress reflects the kind of person you are. It is generally accepted that cleanliness, good grooming and appropriate dress help to reduce distraction, promote health and provide a productive learning environment.
