Pastor’s Notes Sixth Sunday of Easter

Dear Parish Family,

It is with great joy that Fr. John, Fr. Bernie, myself and our Deacons welcome you back to the communal celebration of the Mass this weekend. It is hard to believe it is has been about 2 months since we were last in this Church together as a Parish family. To miss the great liturgical events of Holy Week and Easter were a true source of sorrow for all of us but today we mark the journey back towards our great communal prayer of the Mass. I know there are many who are still unable to join us and I ask you to pray for those who are sheltering and for those who are sheltering to pray for all us. This Saturday we will add a second live streamed Mass to the schedule. Fr. Bernie, has agreed to say a Mass from the Cody Center Chapel on Saturday evenings at 5:30p.m. We are so blessed to have his continued service to our Parish for these many, many years and through this tragic ordeal. Thank you, Fr. Bernie! This past Saturday, Fr. John, Fr. Bernie and I were surprised with a Priest Parade! Our Youth Ministry coordinated a wonderful motorcade of Parishioners who drove by the Main Church with won-derful signs and lots of thanks and well wishes. On behalf of the Priests I want to thank Katie Gunkle for planning such a great event and for all those who participated. Please see our Facebook page for a video of the parade. Since the shutdown began life in the Parish has had to shift, adapt and fi nd new ways to contin-ue our service to our Parish family and local community. I want to thank the staff for all their hard work over the past weeks to ensure the success of our live streamed Masse and their diligent communication with the Parish through the bulletin, social media, email, letter and answering the many calls received in the Rectory daily. I also want to thank them for the great work they have done in preparing to reopen the Church. In this weekend’s bulletin you will see more detailed information on the reopening process. The Mandarin Foodbank has done an amazing job throughout the quarantine to continue feeding those in most need. They have shifted to a drive through system of food pick up and their many volunteers share so much joy with the community.
