Prelude
Call to Worship (Adapted from Revelation 5)
Christ has died! Christ has risen!
Christ will come again!
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
To receive power, wealth, wisdom and might, glory and blessing!
To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
Be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!
Alleluia!
Amen.
Opening Prayer Lisa Patterson
*Hymn 234 Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain ST. KEVIN
Prayer of Confession (Prayer written by Susan R. Tomlinson as found in Let Us Pray) God of glory and might, we admit that though we sing praises to your name when we
worship, there are times when our actions do not bring praise to you. We confess the
times we treat others with harshness or anger or insensitivity. There are times we judge
others or gossip idly, bringing hurt instead of love. Other times we refuse to act in
compassion because it would mean going out of our way. Forgive us, God. Help us to
praise you not only with our voices but with our living, so that the risen Christ may be
glorified. In his name we pray. Amen. (time of silent confession).
Declaration of Pardon Friends, believe the good news of the Gospel.
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!
Call to Faithfulness (Colossians 3: 12-15) As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint
against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must
forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in
perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you
were called in the one body. And be thankful.
*Sung Response Refrain of hymn 238, Thine Is the Glory Thine is the glory, risen, conquering Son; endless is the victory thou o'er death hast
won.
2020 Seniors
The youth committee, along with Richard and Lisa, have been brainstorming and planning
ways to honor our seniors, and let them know how proud of them we are. We are asking for
the congregation’s help with showing these amazing young adults how much we appreciate
all that they have accomplished.
1. Record a short video with words of congratulations, encouragement, or advice for the
class of 2020 and their unique circumstances. Send these videos to
[email protected] before May 17.
2. Send notes or cards via “snail mail” to each senior individually. Their addresses can be
found in Realm, or contact [email protected] or the church office for that
information. We hope to fill their mail boxes with love from their church family.
Please click here for a short bio of each of our graduating seniors, their school activities and
accomplishments, and their plans for the future. Please read, enjoy, be amazed at their depth,
strength, and intelligence, and then show them some love as suggested above.
Hand Sewn Masks Needed!
Cloth, hand sewn masks are needed for the volunteers of Our Daily Bread and area hospitals.
Here is the link for how to sew the masks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHO4mHIKiw0
When you have completed sewing a few masks, let Lisa Patterson know, and someone from
St. Andrew will collect them from your porch and get them to ODB and the hospitals. Ques-
tions? Ask Lisa Patterson at [email protected].
Diaconate Outreach
In a effort to continue to minister to St. Andrew during this time of separation and COVID-19,
the deacons would like to extend helping hands. If you are in the high-risk category or im-
mune suppressed and find yourself saying "I need someone to run to the store...pick up my
medications...grab my kitty some kibble." Email the deacons at diaco-
[email protected] . Indicate your needed item, pick up instructions, payment meth-
od, your address and phone number and we will help locate a volunteer to courier your item
to you. This will be a no contact delivery. The volunteer will ring your doorbell and leave the
item for you on your porch.

COVID-19 Update
Update on church happenings impacted by COVID-19:
1. Worship - at its April meeting, the Session determined we would only worship in a virtual
manner through at least May. In May, the Worship committee and Session will evaluate that
decision given the new guidelines sent out by the state of Texas.
2. Super Wednesday - we will continue to have a Wednesday, 6:30pm Zoom gathering for
children and their families, a 7:00pm Zoom “hangout” time for the entire congregation, and a
7:30pm Zoom youth meeting. This will continue into the foreseeable future.
3. Office hours - beginning Monday, May 4, 2020, we will have staff in the office from 9:00am-
1:00pm. We encourage members to call with any questions or to arrange an appointment dur-
ing those hours. The outside door to the office will continue to be locked to discourage drop-in
traffic.
4. Vacation Bible School - Children’s ministry is implementing a virtual VBS on the Zoom
platform. We anticipate it happening on the previously scheduled dates of June 22-26.
5. Summer Youth Trips - at this time, none of the trips have been cancelled. We anticipate
more updates in the next few weeks.
6. Our Daily Bread will begin serving clients at tables set up in the Parking Lot and in the Rec
Center again starting Friday, May 1, 2020.
7. Presbytery Meeting - the May 30, 2020, presbytery meeting scheduled to be held at St. An-
drew has been cancelled.
Vacation Bible School Goes Live Online!
June 15-20, 2020, each morning at 9:00 am, St. Andrew’s VBS will be live on Zoom.
Story and music for about 30-45 minutes, take a short break, and then Miss Sue will come
back on live via Zoom with the preschoolers to finish with craft and “Time with Miss
Sue.”
Elementary-aged children will be able to then immediately access or wait until later in the
day or week to view pre-recorded class sessions of Science, Art, and Recreation.
Youth will do instructional videos on how to make the snack of the day for children to
follow.
The schedule will continue in this manner for the week, and ALL sessions will be recorded
and available for viewing throughout the summer. The videos will be posted on the St.
Andrew website, including the live Zoom sessions on June 15-19.
Supply Packets will be available for pick-up on Friday, June 12 or we will make porch de-
liveries. We will keep you updated on details.
Children’s Ministry and the VBS Committee are working hard to make this year’s gathering
exciting, accessible, faithful to the Bible stories, and a way for us to stay connected while apart.
We hope you will join us!

FESTAL SONGSM
(this tune in a lower key, 815)
Echoing imagery from Isaiah 61:1–2 and other passages, this text was created as an inclusive-languagealternative to an older hymn using this late 19th-century tune. Because it is a song of encouragement ratherthan a song of praise, it is not directed to God but to people.
With its themes of bearing witness in the world, this lively sending song works especially well when sung incanon. The tune name refers to a street parade with music that occurs in many Bahamian towns on BoxingDay (December 26), New Year’s Day, and sometimes in the summer.
