Attention!!Attention!! Our Our ETERNAL salvation is NEVER ETERNAL salvation is NEVER

and will NEVER be based and will NEVER be based upon our personal merit!! upon our personal merit!!

That means WORKS or even That means WORKS or even priestly DUTIES!!!!!!!!!! priestly DUTIES!!!!!!!!!!

KJV John 6:28 “Then said they to him, What shall we do, that we might

work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the

work of God, that ye believe on him whom he

hath sent.”

Page 11: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

KJV 1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I

declare to you the gospel which I preached to you,

which also ye have received, and wherein ye

stand;

Page 12: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory

what I preached to you, unless ye have believed in

vain. 3 For I delivered to you first

of all that which I also received, how that Christ

died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Page 13: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third

day according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of

above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part

remain to this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Page 14: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the

apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen

of me also, as of one born out of due time.

9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet

to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the

church of God.

Page 15: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly

than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was

with me.

Page 16: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we

preach, and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be

preached that he rose from the dead, how say some

among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Page 17: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then

is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen,

then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he

raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

Page 18: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye

are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are

fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

Page 19: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen

from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that

slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also

the resurrection of the dead.

Page 20: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made

alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits;

afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the

kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority

and power.

Page 21: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

KJV Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon

removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ to another gospel:

Page 22: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the

gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an

angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have

preached to you, let him be accursed.

Page 23: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel to you than that ye have received, let him

be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please

men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of

Christ.

Page 24: Welcome May 21, 2006. The Priesthood of Believers Part 3.

Daniel AleshireDaniel Aleshire.(Executive .(Executive Director of the Association of Director of the Association of

Theological Schools) Raises the Theological Schools) Raises the question; “Is the belief that question; “Is the belief that leads to salvation a belief in leads to salvation a belief in

Jesus Christ –trusting in Him as Jesus Christ –trusting in Him as Savior and Lord? Or is it belief Savior and Lord? Or is it belief that Jesus is the Son of God, that Jesus is the Son of God,

was crucified, buried, and rose was crucified, buried, and rose on the 3on the 3rdrd day?” day?”

Dr. Bonhoeffer said; “The Dr. Bonhoeffer said; “The failure of the church is failure of the church is

making grace available to making grace available to all at too low of a cost.”all at too low of a cost.”

he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever doth not bear his

cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down

first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to

finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid

the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to

mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to

build, and was not able to finish.

How is it that Jesus spoke of the cross as our cross to bare unless

He knew the cross was His to bare first. We as believers are

expected to experience hardships from the world because of our new

life style as NT priests.

25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night

and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in
