Touch Typing is a skill that allows you to type as quickly and efficiently as possible.

It is a complex developmental motor skill that occurs over a period of time. Poor habits begin at a very early age and it is important to correct and develop proper keyboarding habits as early as Kindergarten.

Keyboarding requires practice to become fluent and automatic.

When keyboarding is fluent and automatic, it helps children to focus on the content of their writing, rather than trying to locate the proper keys (Preminger, Weiss, & Weintraub, 2004).
