ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thank you to all who hosted last week’s brunch. We are truly blessed to have so many talented cooks willing to

feed our parish family. God bless you! 2016 Bishop’s Annual Appeal: Our retired priests have given us a lifetime of service. Men like Monsignor John

Brennan journeyed all the way from Ireland to minister to our families here in East Texas. He served our Church in Texas for 60 years. Now he needs our help. With your gift to the 2016 Bishop’s annual Appeal, you can give Monsignor Bren-nan and all our retired priests the care, home, and community they need.

Hungering for Opportunity: Our journey with CRS Riced Bowl begins in Colombia, where coffee beans are changing lives! What actions can we take this Lent to change lives—at home and around the world? Visit crsricebowl.org for more.

Mercy Meditation: The second corporal work of mercy is to give drink to the thirsty. PONDER: The “waters” are an essential element of life, created at the beginning of everything with the formless earth. All of God’s creation needs water to survive, and we humans are no exception. Yet, we often view water as a commodi-ty like any other: available in clean and abundant amounts for the wealthy, often tainted and made scarce for the poverty-stricken. How can you work to give water to the thirsty? How can you be more sparing in your own con-sumption of water? PRAY: Father, you created the water of life, help me to be more generous with your great gift.
