Students may not accumulate more than 4 unexcused absences per trimester
Credit Recovery will be assigned to students who exceed the maximum allowed unexcused absences for a trimester or for the year.

Tardiness
Parent/guardian calls or notes to excuse tardiness shall not exceed 4 in any school year.
Tardiness to school shall result in the following discipline:
Exceeding 4 times tardy: 1 detention if arriving before 7:50 am 2 detentions if arriving after 7:50 am but before 8:15
am 3 detentions if arriving after 8:15 Exceeding 10 times tardy will result in Saturday
Detentions for each tardy beyond 10 Habitual tardiness shall result in a disciplinary hearing
Absence Due to Family Vacation
NOT considered excused absences Students/Parents should make the Dean’s
office aware of the planned absences prior to the vacation
Students should avoid taking any vacations during school days.
Students who are out due to vacation are responsible for making up all missed work.
Reporting an Absence
Call or note to Dean’s Office Parent must call morning of
absence If parents do not call, the Dean’s
office will call home reporting you are absent.
5 or more days absent- must have dr. note to return

If you need a new ID the cost is $1 in the Dean’s office
Bullying and Sexual Harassment If you or someone else is being bullied,
file a report with guidance. The incident will be investigated through
the Dean of Students Bullying, Cyber bullying and Harassment
have a ZERO tolerance policy at Diman Please see Diman’s Website under the
“About Us” tab, then “Plans” to see the anti-bullying plan.
School Conduct and RegulationsThe Following are Subject to a minimum penalty of a verbal warning to a maximum of 5 days suspension
Behavior which interferes with the learning process
Failure to report to teacher’s detention
Misuse of school documents/equipment
Possession or use of cell phones, cameras or ipods during the school day
Defiance/insubordination or lack of respect to a school employee
Unauthorized area during lunch
Food or drink outside the cafeteria during lunch
Misbehavior in the cafeteria, corridor or school grounds
Failure to observe student use of automobile regulations
Public displays of affection
Failure to have student ID in his/her possession
The following are subject to a minimum penalty of 1 Saturday school to a maximum penalty of exclusion
Knowingly being present where drugs/alcohol are being kept or used
Fighting Assault or threats Extortion or intimidation False alarm or bomb
threat Deliberately disrupting

Dress CodeAll students are expected to come to school neat and clean in dress and appearance
The Following are not permitted:
- Excessively short skirts/shorts (finger-tip rule)- Bare midriffs/belly shirts- Yoga pants, stretch pants unless top apparel
reaches beyond fingertip length- Muscle shirts/tank tops- Inappropriate logos and slogans- Clothing with external metal parts/long chains- Frayed or torn clothing- Hats, caps, flip flops, sandals (open back),
bandanas- Gang identification
SHORTS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN ANY SHOP!!
Safety Equipment and Clothing for Exploratory
While in shop, students are required to wear: Exploratory shirt Jeans or work pants Belt Steel toed safety boots Safety glasses Hair restraint
NO ripped or frayed clothing. Full
length pants ONLY. NO sweatpants allowed.
The Following Shops have additional safety requirements:
Health Assisting and Dental Assisting: Shop uniform, safety glasses, work boots or sneakers (no open toes) Hair pulled back with hair ties. One pair stud earrings allowed. No Facial Piercings*
Culinary Arts: Shop uniform, hairnet, no fingernail polish, nails trimmed 1/16” from end of finger, work boots or sneakers (no open toes or mesh sneakers) No facial piercings, only one pair stud earrings allowed.
* Once students are accepted into health or dental assisting, additional dress code requirements are strictly enforced. Students will not be allowed to wear nail polish. Finger nails must be trimmed to 1/16 from end of finger.
