PURPOSE OF INFORMATION

On Oct. 8 we conducted a parent meeting to discuss

the reopening plan to discuss the face to face

program. The following slides contain information that

you will need to prepare your child for the transition

from home to school.

En el 8 de octubure nos reunimos en una junta para

padres y hablamos sobre el plan que hemos

establecido para el 19 de octubre cuando los niños

regresen a la escuela para el programa presencial. Las

siguientes páginas contienene información que Uds.

necesitarán para ayudar a su hijo/a con la transiciód

de la casa a la escuela.

MISSION OF SCHOOL

Our school mission drives the decisions that we

make to ensure that we prepare your child

academically, socially, emotionally and physically for

Kindergarten and beyond.

The Farias School Family will provide a high-quality

education to all children in a safe and caring environment.

MISION DE FARIAS

Es importante que se familiarizen con la misión de la

escuela ya que esta es nuestra motivación en asegurar el

desarrollo académico, social, emocional y físico de su hijo/a

para que este preparado para Kinder y el futuro.

La familia escolar de Farias proveerá una educación de alta

calidad para todos los niños en un ambiente segura y cálido.

OCTOBER 19-FACE TO FACE

Students in the face to face model will come to the school beginning October 19th.

Hours of instruction:

7:30 AM to 3:00 PM

The building will open at 7:10 AM. After the fourth day of school (Oct. 22), the students will be escorted to their

classroom.

OCTUBRE 19-PLAN PRESENCIAL

Los estudiantes que participen en instrucción presencial regresaran a la escuela empezando el lunes, 19 de octubre.

El horario de instrucción será de

7:30 AM a las 3:00 PM

El edificio escolar se abrirá a las 7:10 AM.

Después del cuarto día (Oct. 22), los niños se llevarán a susalón de clase.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• All students are required to wear masks. School will

provide masks that are size appropriate for a young child.

You may send your own mask with your child if it fits well

around his nose and face.

• Students will wear masks all day except for during

breakfast, lunch, snack and rest time.

PROCEDIMIENTOS DE SEGURIDAD

• Todos los estudiantes deben usar máscaras. La escuela proveerá máscaras de tamaño adecuado para un niño pequeño. Usted podrá mandar su niño/a con su propia máscara siempre y cuando este ajustado apropiadamente sobre su nariz y carita.

• Los estudiantes usaran la máscara durante el día excepto durante el desayuno, comida, merienda y descanso.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• All students will have their temperatures checked before

they enter the building:

–Car riders: before the child exits the car

–Bus riders: before the child exits the bus

–Walkers: will form a line and will have temp. checked

before the child enters the building

PLAN DE SEGURIDAD

• Se tomará la temperatura de cada estudiante antes de

proceder al edificio y salón de clase:

–En carro, antes de que el niño/a baje del carro.

–En camión, antes de que el niño/a baje del camión.

–A pie, formarán una fila antes de entrar al edificio.

COVID 19 SYMPTOMS

• Fever

• Headache

• Body and Muscle Aches

• Coughing

• Shortness of Breath

• Loss of Taste

SAFETY PROCEDURES

If your child has ANY of the symptoms listed, please keep your child at home and call your teacher before 8:00 AM and the front desk at 713-691-8730. Please so not send your child sick to school.

You need to have a backup plan for any time your child is asked to stay at home. Your child may continue with a virtual platform while he remains at home. The school nurse will call you for more guidance.

PLAN DE SEGURIDAD

Si su hijo/a tiene CUALQUIER símptoma, va ser necesario

mantenerlo en su casa. Por favor no mande a su hijo/a si

se siente enfermo. Llame a la maestra/o para las 8:00 AM

y a la escuela a 713-691-8730.

Desde ahora necesitan tener un plan por si es necesario

dejar a su hijo/a en casa por motivo de enfermedad. Su

hija/o podrá continuar asistiendo virtualmente a su clase.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• Class tables are safely separated by distance in accordance with the

CDP.

• Children will not physically interact with each other.

• Frequent hand-washing will be required.

• All classrooms will be supplied with masks, gloves, sanitizer,

disinfectant wipes, soap, water, and all necessary materials to

support health and safety procedures.

PLAN DE SEGURIDAD

• Mesas de clase están seguramente distanciadas de acuerdo con el

Plan de Enfermedades Contagiosas (PEC).

• Los estudiantes no tendrán interacciones físicas.

• Se practicará el lavado de manos frecuentemente.

• Todos los salones de clase tendrán útiles de seguridad y salubridad

necesarios tales como máscaras, guantes, desinfectante, toallas

húmedas desinfectantes, jabón y agua para apoyar procedimientos

de salubridad.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• Students will remain in the classrooms most of their

instructional day. Daily recess and brain breaks are planned

daily with no physical contact.

• Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be in the classrooms.

Restrooms are in the child’s classroom and will be cleaned

hourly.

• No sharing of items between children.

• Los estudiantes se mantendrán en el salón de clase la mayoría

del día. El recreo y descansos se planearán sin contacto físico.

• El desayuno, la comida y merienda serán servidos en el salón

de clase. Los baños se usarán dentro del salón de clase y se

hará limpieza cada hora.

• No se permitirá compartir objetos entre estudiantes.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• Students will not participate in field trips. Update after Dec. 2020.

• Visitors limited only to essential personnel. Refrain from sending your

child to school and taking the student out early. Plan with the child’s

teacher for the virtual platform.

• Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided every day and a dinner

item will be sent home with your child at the end of the day. You may

send lunch with your child, but you may not deliver his lunch during the

day. If s/he forgets his lunch, s/he will receive their meals from the

school.

• Los estudiantes no participaran en excursiones o paseos. Esta información se

actualizará después de diciembre del 2020.

• Visitantes estarán limitados a solamente personal esencial. Por favor, evite

traer al estudiante a la escuela para después recogerlo temprano. Planee con

la maestra para participar de forma virtual.

• El desayuno, comida, merienda y cena se la proveerá a cada estudiante

diariamente. Si gusta puede mandar comida con el estudiante dentro de la

mochila al comenzar el día. Evite traer comidas a la escuela después de que

empiece el día escolar. Si se olvida la comida, se le proveerá comida por parte

de la escuela.

PROCEDURES FOR SUSPECTEDCOVID-19 SYMPTOMS

• If a child becomes ill during the day, s/he will be escorted to

the clinic. Nurse will contact the parent for the student to be

picked up immediately.

• A call will be placed to the Health and Medical Dept. and we

will proceed with their guidance.

• With COVID-19 positive cases, the campus will close for

sanitation for a determined amount of days.

• Si algún estudiante se siente mal durante el día, se llevará a la

clínica de la escuela. La enfermera de la escuela llamará a los

padres para que lo recojan de inmediato.

• Una llamada se hará al departamento medico y de salubridad y

procederemos con cualquier indicación del departamento.

• Con casos que resulten positivos de COVID-19, la escuela cerrará

para permitir desinfección y limpieza a fondo por ciertos días.

PROCEDURES FOR SUSPECTEDCOVID-19 SYMPTOMS

It is very important that you inform the school and update Parent

Connect with your contact information in case of emergency.

Also, all parents who picked up the student backpacks received an

envelope with forms to complete that should have been returned to

the school by September 30 in the large gray bin outside of the

cafeteria door. If you have not completed this step, please do so as

soon as possible. In the envelope there is a contact form for you to

list the names of the people that have permission to pick up your

child in case of emergency.

se comunique cualquier cambio a su maestra y a HISD Parent Connect.

PROCEDURES FOR SUSPECTEDCOVID-19 SYMPTOMS

• Affected students and families will be notified by Farias

ECC with guidelines provided by the Health and Medical

Department and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and

Accountability). Keep your contact information current by

using the Connect Parent Portal.

FIRST THREE DAY PROCEDURES

• Follow the established staggered times for arrival to give

parents time to drop off their child in the classroom. Attend

the classroom Open House on Oct 15th at 4:30 p.m. for more

information.

• Prepare your child for the transition.

• Stand on the heart on the front entrance of the classroom door

and say a quick goodbye.

PROCEDIMIENTOS PARA LOS PRIMERO TRES DIAS

• Siga el horario escalonado asignado para la llegada para que padres

puedan despedirse en el salón. Asistan a la reunión de casa abierta

el 15 de octubre a las 4:30 p.m. para mas información.

• Prepare a su hijo/a para el cambio a la clase presencial.

• Párense en corazón a la entrada al salón y despídase cálida y

rápidamente.

FIRST THREE DAY PROCEDURES

•As best as you can, smile when you say goodbye.

• Your feelings and confidence will help your child feel

safe.

•Do not linger. Allow other parents to have time to

say goodbye to their child.

YOUR COMMITMENT

• Register on Parent Connect and maintain current contact information and who has permission to pick the student up.

• Become familiar with the Farias Parent Safety Handbook and Parent Handbook.

• Monitor your child’s health. Please keep your child at home if he has any of the COVID-19 symptoms. You can still keep your child learning and remain present for the day.

• Send your child’s backpack every day with their device. Make sure that the device is fully charged when they come to school.

SU COMPROMISO

• Les pedimos que se registren en la plataforma Parent Connect y mantenga al corriente toda la información de contacto actualizada al igual que permisos de recoger a su hijo/a.

• Conozca la información en el manual de padres de Farias y en el manual de seguridad.

• Monitoree la salud de su hijo/a. Por favor manténgalos en casa si tiene algún síntoma parecido a síntomas de COVID 19. Usted puede seguir apoyando el aprendizaje de su hijo/a de manera virtual.

• Mande el dispositivo técnico en la mochila diariamente asegurando que este cargado completamente cuando vengan a la escuela.

YOUR COMMITMENT

• Send a mat for napping. No blankets. Layer the child.

• Communicate with your child’s teacher with any questions or

concerns. Answer the emails, Class DoJo messages, phone calls, or

etc.

• Contact us if you need support at 713-691-8730.

• Attend the Oct. 15th Classroom Open House at 4:30 PM for

additional crucial information.

• Por favor mande el cojín para descanso sin cobijas. El niño/a puede usar varias capas de ropa para asegurar que se mantenga cómodo/a.

• Mantenga comunicación con los maestros para preguntas o inquietudes. Contesten llamadas y correos electrónicos, mensajes por medios sociales, etc.
