1 Welcome back to racing and to Swimming Queensland’s first meet for the 20/21 season! There are some changes to the way this meet will run due to COVID-19 and required compliance with the restrictions as per the Queensland Government and Public Health Directives. Whilst change can be difficult and confusing at times, we are implementing these measures to ensure the continual safe resumption of our sport and playing our part in keeping both our members and the community at large safe. In nominating for the 2020 Speedo SC Preparation Meet or purchasing a ticket, you have agreed to the COVID-19 Terms and Conditions, which can be reviewed on page 9. Please do not attend if you are unwell or experiencing any symptoms on the day. Below are the key pieces of information that both active participants (swimmers, club managers, support persons, coaches, volunteers and officials) and spectators need to know in attending this meet. TICKETS All attendees (spectators, swimmers, club managers, support persons, coaches, volunteers and officials) must have a ticket to gain entry on each day of the meet. If you do not have a ticket, you will not be allowed to enter. In the case where spectator tickets are still available, you will be able to purchase this online via your device on the day and proceed to enter at the appropriate gate. There will be no sales of tickets or programs at the gate. You are not required to print your ticket as these are able to be scanned from a device. For contact tracing compliance, all attendees also will be required to scan out when leaving, so please retain any printed copies for this purpose. Swimmers, volunteers and officials will be automatically issued Ticketbooth tickets prior to the meet (tickets for swimmers who are dependants in Swim Central, will be issued to their parent/guardian email address). FOOD AND DRINK As usual, you’re welcome to bring your own food/drink with you to the meet. Alternatively, the Aquatic Café (located at the aquatic centre’s reception area) will be operational on both days of the meet, open from 7:00am. Unless altered due to limited customer traffic, the café will remain open each day of the meet until 2:00pm. In the instance it is closing early, there will be an announcement made to inform all attendees. Note, there is no seating available at the café, with all orders filled as takeaway and all food and drink must be consumed in your seat within the grandstand. Alternatively, you are welcome to utilise the various grassed areas of the venue (see page 8).

INFORMATION FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS Venue Access Access to the venue for all active participants, including swimmers, club managers, support persons, coaches, volunteers and officials, is via the eastern grandstand. This is the outdoor pool side of the Brisbane Aquatic Centre (see page 8). All active participants are required to produce their ticket upon entry (either printed or on a device) which will be scanned. If you have purchased a program with your ticket, it will be available for collection at this point. Gates open at 7:00am each day of the meet, however swimmers should arrive at a time appropriate to their first event. Please refer to the Timeline, available here. Entry will only be granted to ticket holders and with contactless scanning in place, we expect this to be a smooth and quick process. However, where large numbers arrive at the same time, please be patient and ensure physical distancing is practiced as you are moving through by keeping a distance of 1.5m between yourself and others. Once scanned, swimmers are able to proceed to their designated club group section of the eastern grandstand where their gear can be for the duration of their stay. Officials and volunteers can proceed straight to pool deck via the internal stairs at the scoreboard end. Club managers, support persons and coaches will be provided a wristband once their ticket has been scanned and will need to self-apply before heading to their designated club group section of the eastern grandstand. The wristband will allow for ease of movement in and around the field of play, as well as other aspects of the venue, i.e. café. Wristbands will be different for each day of the meet. Please note, active participants will not be granted access to the western grandstand and spectators will not be granted access to pool deck or the eastern grandstand. Seating Each club group has been allocated to a specific section of the eastern grandstand to be used for the duration of the meet. It is important for clubs to only use their designated section. Please find your Club’s section on page 5. To comply with restrictions, where possible, each person should be spaced to have an empty seat either side of, immediately in front of and immediately behind them (i.e. checkerboard style). There is no seating on pool deck with all swimmers, club managers and coaches required to use their designated section in the eastern grandstand unless warming up/down, self-marshalling or racing.

Pool deck access and flow Please ensure you are familiar with the pool deck flow map and follow the circular, clockwise direction for all movement around the pool (on page 4). To access pool deck for self-marshalling and racing, use the internal stairs at the dive pool end. To access pool deck for warming up, warming down or active warm up, use the internal stairs at the scoreboard end or the external stairs from the eastern concourse to the outdoor pool deck, then enter indoor via the activities room, which is available to swimmers and coaches for active/dry-land warm ups. Once on deck, please follow the clockwise, circular pattern to move from one area to another before heading back to your designated club group section of the eastern stand. Please refer to the flow map on page 4 for more details. Self-marshalling Self-marshalling will be in place for this meet. This means swimmers will make their way to pool deck, via the internal stairs at the dive pool end of the eastern grandstand, a certain number of races prior to theirs, as follows:

To self-marshal, swimmers follow the below steps: 1. Report to the Self-Marshalling Area behind the starting platform in the lane they’re allocated 2. Move progressively forward, with the other swimmers in their heat 3. Mark off their name with the check starter at their designated lane just before their heat is swum To assist in this process, we recommend swimmers arrive to the meet prepared with the following information they will need for self-marshalling:

Event number/s Heat number/s Lane number/s

50m events Four (4) heats prior to the heat in the water

100m events Four (4) heats prior to the heat in the water

200m events Three (3) heats prior to the heat in the water

400m events Two (2) heats prior to the heat in the water

800m and 1500m events One (1) heat prior to the heat in the water

This information can be found on the Entry List, available here. Please see below example:

It is also a good idea for swimmers to write all event/heat/lane numbers on their arm, in that order, for example:

Section 13, lower of the eastern grandstand (refer above) is also dedicated for use by swimmers in preparation to race for those within 2-3 events of the race in the water at any given time. The below map shows the access and set up of pool deck. During the meet, swimmers can approach the Help Desk (located at the bottom of the internal stairs at the dive pool end) for assistance as required or ask their club manager or coach. Pool deck map

INFORMATION FOR SPECTATORS Venue access Access to the venue for all spectators is via the western grandstand. This is the Aquatic Café side of the Brisbane Aquatic Centre (see page 8). All spectators are required to produce their ticket upon entry (either printed or on a device) and will be scanned in. If you have purchased a program with your ticket, it will be available for collection at this point. Gates open at 7:00am each day of the meet, however please arrive at a time appropriate to the events you are keen to watch, with racing starting at 8:30am each day (view Timeline). Entry will only be given to ticket holders, and with contactless scanning in place, we expect this to be a smooth and quick process. However, where large numbers arrive at the same time, please be patient and ensure physical distancing is practiced as you move through by keeping a distance of 1.5m between yourself and others. Spectators will be provided a wristband once their ticket has been scanned and will need to self-apply before heading to their specified section, row and seat number of the western grandstand. The wristband will allow for ease of movement around the venue, i.e. accessing the café and amenities. Wristbands will be different for each day of the meet. Please note, spectators will not be granted access to pool deck or the eastern grandstand and active participants will not be granted access to the western grandstand. Seating Each spectator ticket is specific to a section, row and seat number of the western grandstand. You must sit in the seat purchased, as stated on the ticket. As this is the first meet in Stage 3 with spectator seating permissible, the capacity of the western grandstand is strictly limited to the use of all odd numbered seats of every second row of each section. While there may be times throughout each day where available seats are not filled, and the stand may seem relatively empty at times, you must only sit in the section, row and seat number as stated on your ticket. As the season progresses, the number of spectators permissible will increase gradually, up to the maximum 50% allowed by the Queensland Government. However, if the smaller numbers are not implemented successfully, this increase will not be approved. We ask all attendees to be considerate of the common goal for the sport to continue to move forward by understanding and adhering to the measures in place.
