Welcome to worship! As the world prepares for egg hunts and waits for spring sales, we invite you to discover the deeper meaning of Easter. Whether you can quote Luke’s account of the resurrection or think that Easter morning is when a rabbit looks for his shadow, this is the place where you can find a faith that makes a difference. So bring your hopes and fears, doubts and faith, to a cross filled with God’s love and a tomb emptied as a promise of eternal life. Because He Lives, we can face tomorrow. Once again, welcome!

Pray!

We extend our hearts and prayers to the families of Roger Smiley, who joined the church triumphant April 5th; Barbara Kelly, who joined the church triumphant April 8th; Dee Gill, who joined the church triumphant in Octo-ber.

Child and Youth Protection Policy training will be held in Howard Hall on Saturday April 27th, 10am or Sunday, April 28th, 11:30am. Per Conference instructions, attendance at this training is required for all paid staff and anyone who volunteers with children or holds a church key. Please choose one of the dates mentioned above and plan to attend. There is a sign-up sheet in the Church lobby or you can call the Church office during regu-lar office hours. Thank you!

DO YOU HAVE A CHURCH KEY?

Changes made in the Child & Youth Protection Policy published by the Florida Conference, made it necessary to review our church building key holders. If you have a church key of any type, please see Martha Beneduci-Hall ASAP. The alarm codes will be changed as of May 1st. If you try to use a key with the old code, you will set the alarm off.

Also, if you are going to be a keyholder, the Conference requires that you take the Child and Youth Protection Policy training. See below for dates.

Thank you for helping us update our policies and procedures to be in compliance with Conference requirements.

It is hard to believe that we have just completed the first quar-ter of 2019….time flies. It has been a busy first quarter as I have been getting used to a new software program for contributions and hopefully, you will be patient as I work through not only the system but also doing the statements for the first time. You should be receiving your first statement the week of April 22nd, either via e-mail or by U.S. Postal Service. Emailed statements will come through our new software program “BREEZE”, and have a subject line of “Giving Statement for First Quarter.”

Please watch for it because it may go into your spam folder, so do not delete it by accident.

Please look over your statement because the format has changed. The front side will show details of your contribu-tions. On the reverse side, if you pledged for 2019, will be a summary of what you have given so far along with the percentage completed. Should you have a question regarding your statement please feel free to contact me at my home number of 727-868-6492. I want to thank you in advance for all you have given and will give in the future months along with patience as I work through the new system. —Barb Mathias, Financial Secretary

GIVE A CHILD AN EASTER BLESSING!

Share your love for Christ and the true meaning of Easter with a child who lives in our Children's Home. I will be collecting and sending Easter cards to the United Methodist Children's Home this year.

Please drop a card off in the Easter basket placed in the Church lobby next Sunday, April 14th or to the church office during the week.

Join me in letting the children know just how special they are during this glorious season.

CHILDREN'S HOME TOUR

Come join us on Friday, May 3rd as we visit our United Methodist Children's Home. We will be touring the various buildings on the property and learning more about how our Children's Home staff members support the needs of the very special children who live here.

The bus will leave the church property promptly at 8:30am and we will return before 5pm. Bring a snack and something to drink for this 2 1/2 hour drive. If there is time, we will stop for a quick bite to eat on the way home.

Sign up early because the bus only holds 14 people. Sign up sheets are in the Church Welcome Center and the front office area.. If you have any question, please call Fran Scerbo 727-597-3727

Thank you, Fran Scerbo, Children’s Home Rep

RED BIRD MISSION AND CLINIC – APRIL MISSIONS PROJECT

One of the vital ministries of the Red Bird Mission is the Red Bird Clinic. Many of the residents in this remote, rural area would have difficulty re-

ceiving needed care without the work of this clinic. The Health and Wellness ministry provides medical and dental services in an area that is chronically under served. In addition to in-clinic visits, the providers travel to the homes of patients to provide care for those who are home-bound.

Your donation is urgently needed to support these vital ministries. The Mission is currently facing a financial crisis that is making it difficult to continue all the areas of ministries they provide. Please mark your check( memo line) or envelope: Red Bird Mission. Thank you!
